Vanessa Ooms speaking from the heart with a brilliant message of choosing a wider perspective when we are facing challenges. Seeing through a lens of love rather than fear results in better physical health, mental health and ultimately creates your reality, your life! Mindfulness teaches us to notice our thoughts and feelings as they are happening which allows us to take a step back and choose how we are going to respond, instead of responding reflexively and how we al...ways have. If you would like to receive my e-course on Mindfulness, direct message me and I will get it out to you ASAP! https://youtu.be/Bfaiq4y7Ldg Much love to you all, Cindy G See more

What are your top 3 non-negotiables for managing stress? These are important to keep in mind and prioritize during times of difficulty and increased stress! It was hard for me to narrow it down to 3 but I chose being in nature, mindfulness/meditation, and feeling connected with family and good friends. Being in nature and mindfulness/meditation are one in the same for me as they both connect me to my inner spirit, to what is most important, and bring me such peace. What brings you calm, peacefulness, and feelings of positivity? Get your week off to a great start and schedule them into your calendar!

This photo speaks to me of FREEDOM and JOY - two words that I couldn't have felt further from 10-15 years ago. FREEDOM from: *the torment of my critical mind; the comparisons, the over-thinking, the "not enoughs", the "shoulds" *trying to control life and everything in it *the weight of having to hide or protect myself from being "found out" that I wasn't "good enough"... *not feeling like I could just be me *the fear of stepping out of my comfort zone There are many reasons why SO many of us feel this way at some point in our lives, including that our brain's job is to keep us safe. It will sound off the alarms if we attempt to stray away from the norm and do something different. What I do know is that you don't have to feel that way, and the sooner you learn the strategies for thinking and feeling better the sooner you can start enjoying life! If you would like to live more consciously, with heart, better self-awareness, and purpose, and/or build your resilience to stress, I will be starting a virtual version of my signature program, Bloom, Holistic Wellness for Women this fall. As always, I am also available for virtual or in-person Individual Wellness consultations. I offer free 20 minute phone consultations at 403-892-2202. My hope is for you to live with a more calm mind, open heart, strong body, and a greater sense of joy and purpose in your days! If you are searching for inner peace, courage, self-love, greater self-awareness, and joy, keep on reading for what I offer in my group and one-on-one programs! In my programs, I offer: *assessment of the contributing causes to your current health issue *self-awareness exercises to become clear on who the "real you" is, and what matters most to you so that you can begin to create a life that is in line with your values and priorities *strategies for challenging old stories, negative thinking patterns and self-defeating beliefs that are keeping you stuck where you are, and replacing them with more accurate and empowering thoughts and beliefs *education on (and trial of) methods for body and mind relaxation, and an understanding of how the brain works under stress, and when consistent mindfulness practices are adopted, key tips for success in creating new habits. *support to engage in meaningful activities that give your life joy and purpose *how to hear the yearnings of your heart when your mind is too busy to listen *accountability to do the work and make the changes in your life *education on the principles and practices of mindfulness, breath work, meditation (if desired), gratitude, and self-compassion *referral to external services that I feel would best meet your holistic health needs: i.e. Psychologist, Naturopathic Doctor, Nutritionist/Dietician, etc. Please reach out if you would like to know more! I love hearing from you! Feel free to share this with someone you know who may be interested. Wishing you a great week! Cindy Goldhawk P.c @ladidalanephotographyandfilms

It is suicide awareness prevention day, and I would like to remind you to please check in with your friends and family! Check in with your kids! And if it is you that is struggling, please talk to your Doctor and get counselling! There is nothing to be ashamed about- you didn’t choose this, but you can get out of this! I wouldn’t wish depression on my worst enemy; it is truly the hardest thing I have ever had to overcome. But I did, and you can too! And men, please do no...t think that you can just be strong and tough it out! No, no, no get the help! Stacey has attached the CBC article on the string of suicides in men in Medicine Hat. Research has shown that a combination of medication and counselling is the most effective treatment for depression. Scroll to 5mins50 seconds if you don’t have time to listen to all of this. Thank you @staceysteelecounselling for the work you are doing
