Sasha's spay went well today. She is resting up to start looking for her forever home.

For adoption... Sasha. A large mixed breed sweetheart .Very energetic, happy dog. Loves to play and spend time with her human. House trained ,newly crate trained. Need structure and guidance. Loves to please her human when learning new rules. Smart but if ignored will get into trouble. Still needs some work on leash training. Not aggressive with other dogs but NO cats as prey drive is high. Would not recommend small dogs or small children due to her energy. Loves to play fetch and can do spiral jumps. Needs a active home due to her energy level.

Rusty was so sick when we got him,,,he was in foster a long time and we spent a lot of money on getting him well. As you can see he was worth every penny. We recently had some bad luck,,,rusty can put a smile back on our face.

So ,,here is the hard part. Today was a rollercoaster of a ride for new hope and the family. We started the day with worry and concern. Rufus’s new family spent countless hours looking for him along with a few of our people and supporters. We got a call from a guy who found him in the middle of the road walking on the mission . He had to work a bit to get him and without knowing he was missing dropped him off at mountain view gas station. They saw him on Facebook and call...ed the owners along with us. So from worry to high fives. We met his people and he was a little shaken and seemed ok. The next step was to get him home and get him a harness. Like I said he looked ok but then they noticed puncture wounds on his neck,,,we took no chances and quickly got the on call vet into the clinic and raced him down. Sadly on the way he stopped breathing and they did compression and cpr on him all the way,,,they put every effort into trying to help him get there. Rufus got there but he did not make it. The family is devastated as we are,,he was so close to having the perfect life but just plain bad luck reared it’s ugly head. He was caught by something that grabbed him and did the damage,,it’s amazing that he even got away. We feel it’s only fair to inform our supporters even in the bad times. Give your dogs a hug today ,,,we will dry our tears and carry on like we always do. We appreciate the people who support and follow us,,thanks for always rising to the challenge. If so inclined we do need to raise a bit of money for the emerg visit and cremation . It takes days,,weeks to get to know a dog ,,it takes minutes and hours to fall in love with a dog. See more

Hello people,,this is an overdue post about some very generous union people. We were contacted by a group of steelworkers who heard about what we do in the community and they wanted to help out. Of course they are all dog lovers and it showed in their VERY generous donation,s. USW local 1976. Lodge 650. USW local 5481,,,Northern Ontario steelworker area council. Viterra Benevolent Fund. ( Viterra is a grain elevator) this group really came through for us and we have adopted them into our rescue world. I met the guys at their office ,,,Eric Eric LaBarre,,,Eric Holland,,and Nick Geravelis. WOOF THANKS!!!!!

OUR DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH HAS BEEN ADOPTED!!!!!!!! Jennifer saw past his health issues and fell in love with his sweet disposition and his rugged handsomeness !!!!! RUSTY ROOOOOO! This sweet face belongs to Rusty! Rusty is a very friendly and affectionate boy, his foster mom calls him "velcro dog", wanting affection and hugs all the time! Rusty came into rescue from Animal Services back in May. He was thin, had open sore his body and just did not look well. After nu...merous trips to the vet Rusty was diagnosed with an auto immune and seizure disorder. Fast forward 4 months, Rusty has gained weight, currently weighing 103 pounds, his sores are almost all gone, hasn't had a seizure in 2 months and is loving life! He will be on medication for life and really has no problem taking his daily meds, he even reminds his foster mom when its time to take them. Rusty has an excellent temperment, only barks when he wants to come in from outside, a quick learner and eager to please. He has so much to offer and is deserving of a second chance. Rusty is 2 years old and best guess is part dane and mastiff. Please don't let him wait long before he can finally know the joy of going through life with that special someone. UPDATE!!!!!! We were trying to figure out where kipper got his money,,,from his mom Caitlin? Or maybe his Meemaw Susan ? Maybe he got money from meemaw in his birthday cards ? Well Susan saw how generous her grandoggy was and decided to match his donation ! . We have the best people ! And dogs? One of our rescues saw a post on how broke we were ,,( were so broke we can’t afford a free lunch . Lol) who knew kipper was looking at Facebook when mom wasn’t home. He managed to get some money together and send it e-transfer to us. How the heck did kipper learn this? WOOF THANKS KIPP!

Someone told us it’s national dog day. Everyday is national dog Day for us,,lol. I guess it’s the perfect day to announce our Luna the bulldog has wiggled her way into the hearts of her new parents ! firstly we have to say thankyou to everyone who inquired or shared her story. There was a flood of applications for her and we just can’t thank everyone personally . There was so many quality homes available to Luna and it made the selection so very hard. We love the people who support our work and we are sure luna is going to love her new life
