Good Word for Today

Friends, As you might have heard this Thursday some restrictions on social distancing are lifting for recreational events. The new rules say that spectators, up to 50, do not have to practice social distancing but still wear masks. The new easing in restrictions does not apply to churches but to what society thinks is important....sports and performing arts. Like you I am constantly surprised at the seemingly unfair restrictions for church, However we must understand we... live in a post Christian world. This should be a stark reminder to us all that more now than ever the church has to be the living and breathing ambassadors of Christ. Please adhere to the restrictions in good faith showing the World and most certainly Bridgewater that we are followers of Jesus. When asked to go a mile and be inconvenienced by such we do not complain, moan, cry..... we ask to go the next mile. I must praise you for doing so well during this time. Many churches all over Canada are struggling with getting people to come and worship together, but you, full of faith, and your love for Jesus and the brothers and sisters at New Life have kept coming together despite the difficulties. Praise the Lord! Remember Jesus' words "Upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell will not prevail against it" The world has rejected Jesus, and it is rejecting the "church" but He is the Rock! No weapon formed against us (even a paper mask) will prevail! For those who are not aware the restrictions for Mask wearing and Social Distancing are still in effect for our services.

We now have something that we didn't have in March: the information necessary to ma...ke decisions based on facts, not fear from the unknown. Please help share the below link widely: to your friends, family, neighhbours, co-wokers, employers, MPP, MP, city councillors. This is the actual Canadian data; from our own government's website. Updated daily. It is this information that decisions can be wisely guided by. Speculation and opinions lead to uncertainty. Uncertainly leads to fear. Widespread fear paralyzes a society. Our greatest strength is our collective intelligence. This is the data that we all need in order to be enlightened. Please review it often. As our society decides how to get back to normal, this information is critical to guide us based upon logic and reason - not by fear. We have the ability to pinpoint our efforts to protect those who face the greatest risk of death. Those in visible leadership and public communication roles should use caution when using language like "spikes", "hot spot", and "epicenter". This only drives up fear and down our morale. Please take the time to review the actual data. This will help us all to have informed opinions and conclusions. When you follow this link, please note the following: - Figure 1 has drop downs to change from the default "number of cases" to options that provide more meaningful information such as "rate" instead of "count" and "deaths" instead of "total cases". - Figure 2 has a drop down to select to see the data by age - Figure 4 has a drop down providing options to see by age the number of people hospitalized, admitted to an intensive care unit in a hospital (ICU), and those who have lost their lives. Hi Pastors, Tuesday, we made a mistake in interpreting an out-of-date document that has caused confusion for many people. We’re very sorry about that. In short, the information we sent you regarding mask requirements for Nova Scotia churches was incorrect. An undated document was interpreted to be an updated guideline. However, this is NOT the case. In Nova Scotia non-medical masks are mandatory on public transportation as of July 24 and in indoor public places as of July 31.... This includes places of worship. Thanks to the contact by one of our pastors, the Government realized the document online wasn’t updated. It was updated by the Province on Wednesday and if you view it now it will look different from when you viewed it originally.
