My number one tip when it comes to time management is something that women are almost always guilty of doing - STOP MULTI-TASKING. Many people fool themselves into thinking they are good at multitasking, but very few few can focus on more than one or two tasks at a time, particularly if they require focus and depth. Don't fool yourself into believing you are getting more done when in reality you are accomplishing less than you would if you did one thing at a time and the qu...ality of the work is poor. Really efficient people know that concentrated effort with few distractions leads to better work product in faster times (why do you think most people say they get more done before or after hours in the office). Don't waste time by having to do things over again. Concentrate on one task at a time and do it well before moving onto the next. We are all still in the dark. No one knows when the COVID restrictions will end, when we will get to start living our "new normal" or what the outcome of what the global pandemic will be. The only thing we do know is that we are all in this together. That is where I find the light at the end of the tunnel, in our human connection.... I am sure there have been plenty of dark moments in your life but if you focus on that light at the end of the tunnel, even a small glimpse of it, that is how you thrive.

If you are intentional in your efforts and committed to doing the hard work, you can create a vision statement that encapsulates your organization's core ideals and provides a roadmap to where it wants to go. Similar to a mission statement, a vision statement provides a concrete way for stakeholders, especially employees, to understand the meaning and purpose of your business. However, unlike a mission statement which describes the who, what and why of your business a vis...ion statement describes the desired long-term results of your company's efforts. A vision statement should be concise, no longer than a sentence or two, but it takes a lot of work, ideas and words to get there: STEP 1: Start by being exceptionally clear about what it is your organization actually does. Be careful to remain 'output focused' rather than 'input focused'. For example: A bakery makes bread. But the outcome is consumers enjoying that bread. STEP 2: Define what unique twist your organization brings to the above outcome. STEP 3: Apply some high-level quantification (i.e. specifics). STEP 4: Add relatable, human, 'real world' aspects. For example, "Ensure that every customer who leaves our store, does so smiling." Here, using the word 'smiling' as opposed to 'happy' is powerful, because it conjures a mental image of a person smiling. Here are some examples of famous vision statements: Amazon: "To be Earth's most customer-centric company where customers can find and discover anything they might want to buy online." Google: "To provide access to the world's information in one click." IKEA: "To create a better everyday life for the many people."
