Newmarket Charitable Gaming Association is a not-for-profit association of more than 50 not-for-profit organizations in York Region and surrounding areas. Our members hold a Charitable Gaming permit to volunteer at Bingo World and Gaming Newmarket to raise funds. www.ncga.ca Their mandate is to support members in this fund-raising model and to share information about the contribution Charitable Gaming is making to our local community. And here is a great example. The Newmark...et Optimist Club leverages funds raised by the NCGA to support our Annual Youth Appreciation Awards where we invite each youth group we support to select one member and each Newmarket Area High School to select one student who has stood out among their peers to attend the event. In addition, we will have youth from COLS, Food4Thought and the Optimist Club Essay contest in attendance. Award recipients receive a Certificate of Recognition and a small bursary to go towards continuing education.
