The NNPF is excited to announce that Lee Wilson, former resident director for the Birmingham Conservatory of the Stratford Festival and former Associate Director for the Gate Theatre in Dublin, Ireland, will be directing four productions in the 4th annual Newmarket National 10 Minute Play Festival. Wilson, founding Artistic Director of Resurgence Theatre, a former director at the Shaw and Stratford Festivals, and currently Assistant Professor of Acting at the University of W...indsor, will be coming home to Newmarket to be one of the group of six directors producing 24 original plays written by Canadians from coast to coast. At the close of the Festival on Sunday night, July 28th, the following scripts won the top three prizes in the National Ten-Minute Playwriting Competition: 1st Place: Eden Middleton, Calgary, Alberta for Centre Line. 2nd Place: Sarah Anne Murphy, St. John's, NL (now residing in Victoria, B.C.) for Buried.... 3rd Place: Liam Salmon, Edmonton, Alberta for Electra. This is the third year in a row that one of Liam's plays has placed in the top three nationwide. Congratulations to our 24 play finalists and to our top prize recipients. #nnpf2019
