Our factory team is developing some great products for 2021. As pack boats grow in popularity, kayakers have asked us about outfitting a pack boat with a rudder... system. It will only be available on certain models, but here is a Cruiser 15.8 with a Smart Trak rudder system. Kayak style performance with canoe functionality. See more

A peaceful occupation of the Lands and Forestry office in Halifax in support of the threatened mainland moose was abruptly ended by Halifax police after two hou...rs. Their only demand was for the minister to meet with a group of people who are camping out in order to protect mainland moose habitat from clearcutting. See more

Chris is headed out to the Northeast U.S. with several stops at dealers in New York and Connecticut, then he's got 18 customer deliveries from Vermont all the way to Florida. Get a tan while you're down there. Safe travels, Chris. That's a lot of Kevlar on one trailer!

Just drove into Weymouth to send this. No reception at the camp. I took this photo yesterday. LOGGING CO. PUT THIS UP ON THE ROAD TO SPORTING LAKE. This is crow...n land and open to all Nova Scotians. Call whoever you can and complain. Local DNR's your municipal reps, provincial reps etc. UPDATE at camp. We gave the loggers three days to float their gear out + have let them in and out. But TODAY we blocked the road at second enacmpment (into the logging area.) Letting loggers out but no loggers or transport trucks IN. However, we are letting Hunter and folks on ATV's in to hunt etc. Heading back to camp. Love to see visitors (the friendly kind) we are to the RIGHT of Snowman's corner (past the rod into Electric City). Eko cam in yesterday with food! THis is where the demonstration will be on MOnday. I will send more speficic info but gotta get back to camp. Never thought I'd be tenting this time of year. SHeesh. See more

Join Bill Swift at our original headquarters in Algonquin as he takes you through the all-new Saranac 15 XL kayak. The Saranac series offers mid-length touring ...kayak performance, and the oversized XL cockpit offers more mobility and comfort for those seeking an open fit. With a performance hull and a comfortable deck and seat configuration, the Saranac 15 XL is a great mix of both worlds. See more

Blending in with nature is part of the experience. If you didn't know, we offer Swift boats in unconventional colors if you're looking to step outside of the or...dinary. We can build yours in mango orange, lime green, apple green, yellow, sea blue, and a host of others. We even do camouflage. (- @andy.holden)

Sometimes people forget that we also specialize in high performance touring kayaks. The Saranac 14 is named after Saranac lakes region in the Adirondack Mountai...ns of New York, where wide open lakes and rivers require a smooth touring boat that can cover distance while still offering ample storage space for tripping. We make them in a variety of custom two-tone colors like Glacier (shown), Firestorn, Sunburst, and Boreal. You can mock up yours here: https://swiftcanoe.com/build-price/

The Cruiser 14.8 Pack was modeled after the Cruiser 16.8 solo canoe we unveiled a couple years ago, which itself is based on the original Sawyer Shockwave. The ...Cruiser 14.8 has sharp entry lines and lots of tumblehome, plus a contoured S-gunnel at the paddling station for easier access. It can be used for recreational paddling, or long distance tripping if you want to load it up. It'll grab people's attention at the launch ramp, and it'll grab your attention when you point the bow and start paddling hard. See more

We just unveiled the Cruiser 15.8 pack in March and it's been a hit. The distinctive S-gunnel means you've got a narrow paddling station that doesn't obstruct y...our movement, and with 15'8" of length there's plenty of waterline to get moving. This new boat is sitting restlessly at Swift Algonquin if anyone would like to take it for a paddle... You can check out all the specs here: https://swiftcanoe.com/boat/cruiser-15-8-2/

We can hardly keep the Prospector 14 Pack in stock, and there's a good reason why. It's one of the most versatile boats we've ever designed, and it's got a grea...t mix of traditional style coupled with modern performance. This sleek carbon fiber version is sitting at our Swift Algonquin location if anyone would like to give it a forever home :) See more

I am posting this here because Newfoundland and Labrador have a major upsurge in recreational kayaking. Ken Whiting is in all circles a recognized expert. We ...indeed invited him here for our Retreat / Symposium. What he covers is sensible but before you get into a kayak remember he is dealing with the USA Not Newfoundland. our water temperatures on the ocean are lethal. Stuff appropriate in New York are NOT suitable for Newfoundland. Our ocean typically ranges 5 - 10 C and if there is an iceberg around that can go to zero and the internal temperature of bergs is typically -15 C. I look forward to seeing you on the water.
