Do you know where Gyproc, BC. is? In 1926 the economy in the lower mainland received a major boost with the establishment of the British Columbia Gypsum Companys manufacturing plant on the south shore of the Fraser River opposite New Westminster, at a Canadian National Railway railway point that would become known as Gyproc, near what is now called Bridgeview. The British Columbia Gypsum Company facility has changed hands many times but continues to be a partner in the recycling of gypsum in BC.
