The Lions Foundation of Canada provides dog guides to Canadians with disabilities including Hearing Dog Guides. Hearing Dog Guides assist individuals who are 10 years of age or older and who are deaf or hard of hearing to detect sounds they are unable to hear on their own. They have been taught to distinguish sounds, make physical contact with their handlers and lead them to whatever is making the noise; be it someone at the door, an alarm clock, or a ringing telephone.

Gael Hannon is a writer, actor and public speaker who grew up with a progressive hearing loss that is now severe-to-profound. She has received several awards for her work, including the Consumer Advocacy Award by the Canadian Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists, and several awards from the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association.

Tinnitus is commonly described as a ringing in the ears, but it also can sound like roaring, clicking, hissing, or buzzing. It may be soft or loud, high pitched or low pitched. Why do my ears feel clogged? There are times when you purposely plug your earsthink fingers or earplugsand then there are, well, other times when your ears feel clogged for no good reason.
