What if the answer to food security was in architecture? Well, that is a reality, and a very feasible one. Vertical agritecture or vertical farming (VF) has been implemented in some cities around the world, including London and Singapore. The idea of vertical agritecture is about bringing food production closer to people while creating soil-less farming and growing nutritious products. Vertical farms don’t require new infrastructure to function but rather they can be placed in abandoned spaces within the city or inside buildings. #SmartCitiesCanada
