We were finally able to come up with our new video commercial. It took us some time to get it done but it was worth the wait. Editing can be such a long process. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do! Feel free to give us a like if you do.

Hello, I just wanted to take the opportunity to address all the comments, requests, and questions that we have been receiving lately about our posts (on tax, financial, and accounting-related matters). This is particularly true considering all the financial support measures that have been rolled out by the various levels of governments. Part of our mission at Nexus Accounting is to educate and provide people in our local communities with the tools and resources in order for t...hem to make better financial decisions for themselves and in their businesses. For that reason, we have created a blog on our website which can be accessed freely. Yep, tons of articles without a charge. We are trying to write articles as regularly as we can (once a week or twice a week) depending on how busy we are. When we publish an article, we let people know about it on our Facebook page where we have created a growing local community. To those who have not already joined us, if you like our posts, we would like to invite you to join us on our Facebook page so you can take advantage of our free resources. We try to provide the most up-to-date information to provide the most relevance to our readers. Thanks, The Nexus Accounting Team

It was announced this morning that the Alberta Government will roll out a new $120-million program designed to keep the hardest-hit businesses (gyms, restaurants, dance studios, tourism-related companies, etc) going, by providing them with additional grants of up to $10,000. This is on top of the SMERG program. The new program is designed for small and medium-sized businesses, co-operatives, and non-profits with fewer than 500 employees if their revenues have plunged by at least 60%. The program is still being finalized and the application for the funding is expected to start in early April. A lot of businesses will be disappointed with the timing of the application given the urgency of the situation.

A survey was conducted by KPMG (a big accounting firm) at the end of last year (Dec 2020) and 2000 people were interviewed. From the survey, 9 of 10 people interviewed think, in order to be a proper economic recovery, that we should adopt a 'Buy Canada First' approach in the same way the U.S. is helping its economy to get back to its feet. A majority of people think large corporations and government agencies have to favor local small and medium-sized businesses. Here are a fe...w findings from the survey conducted by KPMG (a major international accounting firm): 87 % of Canadians say we must stop COVID-19 in its tracks by whatever means necessary with 89 % seeing the rollout of approved vaccines as the only way to protect public health and jumpstart the economy 92 % want the government to create incentives to 'buy Canadian' to restart our economy and ensure we build necessary domestic capacity to supply our critical needs 86 % want corporate Canada to allocate a share of all its contracts to small- and medium-sized Canadian businesses 89 % plan to focus their personal spending on domestic opportunities to help Canada's economy get moving again. The strengthening of the healthcare system is also a priority and there is a greater appreciation of the role of health care workers.

I came across this article over the weekend and find it quite interesting. Amidst all the negative news coming from Alberta in the last two months, there are companies out there that are trying to make the most out of the situation. E3 Metals Corp is one of them. They are currently testing technology to extract lithium from old oil-and-gas wells. Lithium, as you probably know, is used mostly in car batteries to power vehicles. And given the growing importance of electric v...ehicles in the auto industry, the market for lithium is just enormous. https://financialpost.com//meet-the-company-thats-looking-
