A look at a cottage decor kitchen that I recently decorated. Cottage decor is all about soothing but inspiring colors, natural elements such as wood, metal, wicker, texture and special pieces.

My Cottage Decor project is complete! I had the pleasure of working with Jason, from Framed Photography and took some shots of this space for my portfolio. Most of the pieces in this project are personal treasures or locally sourced.. here is a sneak peek of the dining room.#framedphotography #customdraperybyanniec #alpinsinteriors#benjaminmoore #martintowntradingpost #myvintagesoul

STAGING VS DECORATING Is there a difference between decorating your home and staging it to sell? ABSOLUTELY! Decorating your home is the opportunity for you to surround yourself with, items, colours and keepsakes that represent who you are as an individual or family. ... Staging your home is the process of preparing it to appeal to someone else so that they can put their personal mark on it and view themselves living in your current space. We all have different tastes so it is unreasonable to think that everyone will love what we love. Staging can help you sell quickly and for top market value. How does one do this? 1. De clutter 2. Refresh your space with a neutral paint palette. Neutral doesn’t mean white. Ensure flooring, cabinets etc are in good shape. Ensure the exterior of the house and property are inviting and free of debris. 3. Remove personal photos, treasures, keepsakes etc. You want a potential buyer to make an emotional connection with your home and visualize themselves living in THIS home, not YOUR home. 4. Ensure that you have given a purpose to the different areas of your home. This is equally important in large spaces as smaller ones. You want to avoid potential buyers saying That’s wasted space? Or Where can I put my office/desk? 5. Hire a professional to help you figure this out. An objective eye from someone who has no emotional connection to your home can help you accomplish this for a minimal cost. In most cases it’s just a matter of using pieces you already have and placing them constructively. 6. Your home is your personal space, but when it comes to selling it , it is now property.. and it is important to view it from a non - emotional lense. Remember, your goal is to move on to your next chapter and create/ decorate your new home sweet home. For more information give me a call. Natalie 613-284-6799 #NG Interiors #staging#realestate
