Congratulations to the Fox Creek Senior Basketball Teams on their game vs. Mayerthorpe! The boys won 100-39, incredible scoring from Li-am Xyrus Balasbas, passing from Ralph Zymon Pangan, and rebounding by Jacob Scobey. Incredible game by everyone overall! The girls won 84-39, Brooklynn Miskelly broke the school scoring record with 59 points! Incredible defence by Raylin Tyson and Lataiya Tomlinson! What a game ladies! Good luck to both teams on their tournament this weekend ...in Valleyview. A big thank you to Laura-Lynn Camps, Brittany Christie for volunteering there time to coach and Brad Peavoy for live streaming the games!

Repsol has once again announced that they will offer two scholarships to Fox Creek School students. The first scholarship is the $500.00 scholarship to a grade 12 graduating student based on academic achievement, and who will be furthering their education in engineering, trades or sciences. This $500 Scholarship will be available for the 2020/21 academic year and the recipient will be decided upon by the school based upon enrollment in the required field and academic achievement . The second scholarship is the $1,000.00 scholarship for any grade 12 student furthering their education. We are asking any students interested in applying for this scholarship to write an essay outlining their academic plans for the future, explaining why they need the money, and telling a little about themselves. Letters need to be submitted by June 22, 2021. Recipient will be decided upon by a panel of judges at the school based upon the submitted essay. Students can e-mail their essays to [email protected] or mail/drop off their essay to Fox Creek School, Box 88,Fox Creek, Alberta.

Steven Harding was the 2008 valedictorian whose future was cut tragically short in a car accident that same year. A scholarship fund was created by his family with all of the awards that Steven had earned that year. A $500 award is given on an annual basis to a graduating student going on to post-secondary in the year following graduation who displays many of the traits that Steven displayed. The winner shall have displayed the following: 1. Participation in extra-curricular activities 2. Community involvement 3. A History of volunteerism 4. A positive attitude 5. Displayed enthusiasm to work, school and their peers The letter of application is to be sent to Fox Creek School via Canada Post, drop off, or email by June 15 and will contain a description of why the applicant should receive the award based upon the stated criteria. The recipient will be chosen by the team of Principal, Academic Counsellor, and another teacher.
