Here are a few screen shots from the new Lowrance HDS12 live. The first one is side imaging at 30 mph. The second is of the 3-1 transducer. If you look at the bottom right hand side you will see a school of suckers and walleye mixed in. I know this because i drifted over them with my underwater camera. There is alot of concern that the 3-1 transducer is not putting out quality images. I thnk transducer placement is a big part of it. You cant look at the 3-1 as just a structure scan transducer, you have to treat it as a 2D transducer and mount it the same way. It needs a steady turbulant free flow of water under it just like a 2d would need for quality returns especially at speed. There is so much going on in that second pic its mind boggling. Cant wait to get this thing on lake Erie.

Hopefully like all Lowrance products it will be well thought out and durable. Long time in the making. https://youtu.be/Clqn11HqIsc

Trout season is in full swing. In another week the lakers will be game on the bar. Just have to hope Mother Nature co-operates for another few weeks.

Here is the link to an article talking about Structure Scan and it’s benefits. For all those people that are on the fence about this technology it’s a good read and explains a lot of the benefits of scanning technology. Like most technological advances it has come along way and now Lowrance offers it in their base Hook 2 series starting at $544 Canadian including a Navionics + chip which on its own retails for $230 dollars. https://www.radioworld.ca/search?controls%5B1%5D...=Hook2%205ts You can now benefit from this amazing technology that will not only help you locate new fish holding Structure but make your time on the water a lot more interesting. Good luck and go fishing! https://doctorsonar.com//educatio/tagged/lowrance-sidescan
