Justin fait des études de premier cycle en cinéma et en philosophie à la faculté des arts de l’Université du Manitoba. C’est un étudiant passionné qui souhaite mettre à profit son diplôme en cinéma en faisant mieux connaître les communautés autochtones rurales du Manitoba et les points de vue de leurs citoyens par l’intermédiaire de documentaires ou de récits. Le soutien du Fonds fiducie FIC l’a aidé à payer ses frais de scolarité et des livres et lui a permis de nouer des liens avec d’autres jeunes chefs de file. Justin compte utiliser ses nouvelles connaissances pour demander davantage de droits pour les jeunes Autochtones au Canada. Il a déclaré : En cette période particulière et difficile, mon cœur s’emplit de joie à l’idée de pouvoir réaliser mes objectifs d’éducation grâce à ce type de soutien .

NIBTF Success Story - Justin Langan Justin is pursuing his undergraduate degree in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Manitoba studying film and philosophy. He’s a passionate student who aims to use his degree in film to spotlight rural Indigenous communities in Manitoba and help amplify the voices of their community members through documentary or narrative features. Support from the NIB Trust Fund has helped him with tuition and books and given him the chance to connect with other youth leaders. Justin hopes to use his education to help him advocate for more rights for Indigenous youth across Canada and says, In these unique and difficult times my heart is full knowing I can pursue my education goals with this kind of support.
