Hi All, I had a bit of fun with this beautiful song near the beginning of the Ontario business closures. With my teaching studio being closed, this time was was for me a chance to dig into a project I had in the back of my mind for awhile. ... I am happy to say that the project is almost fully realized and will be available early March here: www.nicholasrussell.bandcamp.com

Hello All, I've spent some time over the last month working on a collection of instrumental songs for a new release. All of these tunes were recorded on an acoustic archtop guitar - a 1949 Gibson L-7. I wanted to share with you some of the wood, tone, buzz & vibe of this special old instrument. ... Here's a video of 'Ashokan Farewell', an arrangement featured on the album. This was filmed live in Haliburton, On. Thanks for the great video, Brad! On this release you'll hear intimate one-off takes of jazz standards along with some swingin’ bop & blues (some tunes feature my friend, Robert Lee, on upright bass. He's a very fine player! Check out: robertleebass.com). You can pre-order the album now via Bandcamp: www.nicholasrussell.bandcamp.com If you haven't used Bandcamp before, it's very easy and is a great service that's fair to independent artists. By making a purchase over Bandcamp you can download the entire album to your computer when it's released or access the album stream via the Bandcamp app. The full release will be available March 1, 2021 via Bandcamp (streaming services to follow in due time). Head on over to Bandcamp or my website now (www.nicholasrussell.ca) to hear a couple takes from the record. Cheers and thanks for your support!
