NEW PRACTITIONER ALERT!!!! On September 14, 2020 we will be welcoming Jenna Fleming, a manual osteopathic practitioner with a background as a practicing RN. What is manual osteopathy? Let's hear what Jenna has to say....... Manual Osteopathy is a form of hands on therapy that takes a holistic approach to healthcare. Meaning that if one area develops a dysfunction then the body will compensate causing dysfunction, pain, inflammation and stiffness in other areas of the body. Osteopathy believes that the body is self healing with proper maintenance so in order to maintain optimal health, the whole body must function together. Therefore, it is necessary to treat the body as a whole, because the body is an interconnected unit where one area affects others. As an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner, my assessment includes a combination of visual assessment, gait analysis, range of motion, orthopedic tests and palpation to understand the bigger picture, and create treatment plans specific to each and every individual. Osteopathic treatment focuses on returning optimal function of the joints, muscles, spine, nervous system, fascia, lymphatic and circulatory systems. Treatment can include a combination of mobilization, soft tissue and muscle energy techniques, as well as visceral and craniosacral techniques. Manual Osteopaths in Canada work in conjunction with physiotherapists, medical doctors, chiropractors, dentists and massage therapists to ensure optimal recovery and health. Osteopathy can help with: Repetitive Strain Injuries Back Pain Sciatica Disc Herniation Neck Pain Nerve Pain Osteoarthritis Scoliosis Joint Pain Shoulder, Elbow, Wrist, Hip, Knee, Ankle, Foot pain, Frozen Shoulder Tendonitis (Tennis/Golfer’s Elbow, Rotator Cuff Injury) Tension Headaches & Migraines TMJ (Jaw) Dysfunctions Strains and sprains Plantar Fasciitis Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Trigeminal Neuralgia and Bell’s Palsy Postural stress contributing to weakness, fatigue, and loss of flexibility If you are seeking relief, or just have questions on how you can live at your physical best, don’t hesitate to contact me. It would be my pleasure to work with you. Book online today at app.outsmartemr.com/online-booking/2700
