When something BIG happens in our lives, what is the first thing that we tend to slack on? Survey says...taking care of ourselves, both mentally and physically. But it shouldn’t be that way.... In reality, to be able to be best equipped to deal with those big things that are happening in your life, you really do need to be at your in tip top shape mentally and physically. When the BIG things happen in your life, you essentially have two options... You can decide to focus all of your attention energy on continuing to stress and feel anxious about whatever the issue is that is going on in your life, probably overthink it, and probably suffer some kind of mental or physical setback. OR You can step back and step away from the stress and the anxiety surrounding your BIG issue and decide to spend some dedicated time taking care of yourself so that you can return to the issue that's going on in your life in a better space. It's not going to make the issue go away, but it's going to make you much better prepared to actually deal with the issue if you take the time to step aside. Take care of yourself... Do a workout, go for a walk, do a meditation, do some breath work, feel good about yourself, and then return to the issue with a fresh perspective. Trust me If you can learn how to use self care as a coping mechanism when shit gets hard in your life, you’ll be much better off than if you allow yourself to become consumed by the issue, and fall into bad habits of neglecting your self care. Whatever you’re NOT changing, you’re choosing. Unfulfilled with your work life, but doing nothing to change it? You’re choosing to stay unfulfilled.... Unsatisfied with your family life, but doing nothing to change it? You’re choosing to stay unsatisfied. Unhappy with your current level of physical or mental health, but doing nothing to change it? You’re choosing to stay unhappy. Change is uncomfortable. Growth is uncomfortable. Personal development is uncomfortable. But nothing is as uncomfortable as willingly living an unfulfilled, unsatisfied, and unhappy life. : @kaela_leone See more

Hip Mobility Challenge Try this to test out your hip mobility and let me know how you did in the comments!
My metabolism is slow, that’s why I can’t lose weight My genetics suck, that’s why I’m not in better shape My hormones are out of whack, that’s why I can’t reach my goals... I have no motivation, if I could just get motivated then I could get fit My medications cause weight gain, so I couldn’t possibly lose weight while on them Will your metabolism, your genetics, your hormones, your lack of motivation, and your medications affect the speed at which you improve your health? Yes. Will they prevent you from improving your health entirely? Only if you continue buying into your own bullshit story. See more
