Good Morning, I have been exceptionally quiet on this page but wanted to give a quick update as to my status regarding opening. I have been getting many requests for sessions but unfortunately I am not able to reopen yet. While many regions were given the go ahead to reopen as part of Stage 2, Durham Region is one that remains in Stage 1. As soon as I am allowed to reopen I will let you know. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this unusual time. I miss everyone and hope you are all staying healthy.

April 2020 Currently day 50 something of staying at home. I miss my families and am really looking forward to the time when I'll be able to create memories with them.

There is a lot going on in the world, especially in the last couple of months. It's made it hard to feel motivated to pick up a camera. I've struggled to document my own family and am unable to document others at the moment. I'm making a conscious effort to pick it up more to capture this history in the making, a history none of us wanted to be a part of. Here is February and March 2020.

Just waiting for it to feel like this later this week.

Here's a little throwback to the time it started to blizzard during a photo shoot. It was so fun!! Yes, you can shoot in a blizzard.

A little warm weather sunshine for this cold weather sunshine. I will take all the sunshine.

Went back a little in time to a winter photoshoot with one of my favourite families. Snow can be an amazing backdrop. And we have a lot at the moment!

2019 Favourites It took me a while to get these together, January started with a bang. A heartfelt thank you to all my families. I loved creating memories with everyone, from family shoots to Christmas and everything in between. I was lucky to add a bunny and a horse to my shooting menagerie that already includes dogs (many, many dogs), cats and chickens. Side note, a family shoot that includes three kids a dog and a bunny is guaranteed to be exciting. I'm excited to see what 2020 brings. This little cutie was so fun to watch for her cake smash. I truly cannot get over her blue eyes and red hair. Honestly adorable!

Another fun family session in the books for fall. These two kiddos were on fire and gave me all kinds of laughs.

I have been so lucky to photograph this guy and his family since he was in his Mommy's belly. He's such a pro now that he directed almost the entire shoot. He nailed it.

April and May 2019 Spring is busy!

This page is terribly neglected. Winter tends to be quiet and I photograph many families who prefer not to have their images posted on a public page. I respect that and so there have been only my monthly (mostly late) grid posts. We are getting into spring and warm weather and soon, soon can get outside and really get silly and fun. This winter was brutal so here's to spring.

Happy New Year! It is 2019 and what a ride 2018 was! I enjoyed every shoot and every new and returning family I was lucky enough to spend time with this year. I wish everyone a wonderful 2019 filled with love, laughter and adventure. Here is a collage of some of my favourite images this year, both personal and professional. Thank you for being part of my year.

I totally forgot about November! Maybe because I hardly took any pictures. Oops.

These two young men are going to break some hearts. The dog is pretty cute too. And the parents, really it's a whole gorgeous family!

Anyone who knows me knows I LOVE babies! I love to shoot newborns in their homes with the people who love them the most. I shoot organically and strive to capture the incredible love you feel for this new life. This family was amazing to photograph and it didn't hurt that their home had the best natural light ever. Thank you for inviting me in.

Back in November, I got to photograph this lovely family. They were so great and didn't even complain about the bitter cold.

Let's pretend that fall lasted more than three days and was like this picture for a month.

When summer gets crazy, this page gets neglected. This shoot is from a few weeks ago and what a blast! I love the craziness that three (or more) kids bring to a session.

July 2018 Very, very late, but when you're traveling...

When your young client disappears and returns as security detail for the shoot. This is why I love my job. Just when I think I know where things are headed, turns out I don't have a clue.

I had the best time shooting these three! I am not kidding when I say I laughed for nearly the entire session. Boys are hilarious and I think they truly appreciated all my fart jokes. Okay, maybe two out three did anyway. :)

I did this shoot a little while ago but didn't want to share until she had had her recital. What an honour to capture something so special and what an amazing model! I could easily have worked with her all day long. She just looked stunning!

April 2018 Things are a little quiet on this page. Winter tends to be that way and there have been shoots I can't share for various reasons, which I am totally cool with. Wishing all my friends and families a very Happy Easter!

I don't usually make posts things like this but today I am making an exception. Today I am 44. As I get older, I am more and more aware of mortality, my own and those around me. In the last year and a bit out family was rocked by two devastating deaths, my Mother-in-law (14 months ago) and my Mom (9 months ago). Part of the process of dealing with death is gathering photographs. Having now lost both my parents I covet all the photographs that exist. I have precious few ...of my Dad and while there are many, many more of my Mom,there aren't enough. I want every image from any decade in focus or not. I realized that my kids are going to want the same. And there aren't enough. I am not in that many photographs with or without my kids. There are entire family events where I do not exist according to the photographs. This year I have vowed to change that and I challenge you to do the same. I want to exist in more than just memories. I am not comfortable in front of the camera, but that is where I am headed. I want every parent to take that selfie with your kids, set up a timer, use a remote or heck, go old school and ask a stranger. Get in the picture. I know that if something were to happen to me, now or far in the future, that there won't be enough photographs. There never are. I can add to the pile so that there are more than a precious few. I don't have a lot of families who are willing and excited to do an outdoor family session in the winter. I get it, it's cold and it's harder to coordinate outfits. But can I just say that they are really fun! And the snow makes everything so pretty. If you are brave, think outside the box and shoot me an email. You won't be disappointed.

January 2018 I like the monthly grids of our days so much, I am going to keep creating them. They force me to take out my camera for my own kids more often and they go together to make an awesome photobook of our year. I don't always choose the best of the best pictures, but rather the ones I feel are the most descriptive of our month. If you want a goal for 2018, create a monthly grid, I swear you won't regret it.

Happy New Year! I have had a great year photography-wise and got to meet so many new families as well as reunite with past families. It was the year of babies and I just loved meeting all the new wee ones. There is nothing I love more than an in-home newborn session. Thank you so much to all my clients for allowing me to capture a little piece of your family. You mean more to me than you will ever know. I look forward to many more sessions in 2018. I hope 2018 is good to you!
