I feel very fortunate to work with wonderful and inspiring people every day! Thank you again! :)
Any project that requires looking at many photos of puppies, is a good one :) The brief required creating a trusted and confidence inspiring brand, I brought in the geographical elements of the kennels, open spaces and lakes. I just about managed not to order one!
John has pure passion, enthusiasm and energy in his profession, he thinks ‘outside the box’! He took this opportunity to refresh his branding, to differentiate in a busy market - focusing on lifestyle elements of living in the Comox Valley. We worked on a strong nature based palette and imagery to reinforce the island life. The branding has been introduced to all his online presence and printed material, a big thank you to ABC Printing & Signs for a great job! Congratulations John Sheehan-Island Living
Small Fires was a great branding project to work on - the brief was ‘be bright, engaging and dynamic’. Progressive and transformative conversations are central to this brand, the negative space around the speech mark are the evolving shapes to create a flame. The colour moves from a ‘cold’ palette to a more approachable ‘warm’ combination. The podcast icon is a simplified version of the logo to stand out in a competitive group and the website design follows the bright and dynamic brief!

I worked closely with Nicole and Vanessa to develop the visual representation of their counselling clinic, creating a profession, light and hopeful brand with the energetic injection of bright orange. West Coast imagery is featured throughout the website as a grounding connection to nature. Check it out www.sisucollective.org Congratulations Nicole and Vanessa!!
The idea for Whole Health Family Wellness came from a passionate desire to educate and inform children on their nutritional choices. Shannon wanted the feel of the brand to be colourful! Food colours, the colours that should be included on your plate. We created a placemat that is fun and informative. The brand continues onto the website and business cards.
Ive been busy creating identities for new businesses, one example is Acquired Space Decluttering. Cheryl and I had many conversations on the decluttering process and its so much more than getting new tupperware :) She has a clear idea of her business and I couldnt be more excited for her! You can check out her instagram page www.instagram.com/acquired_space_decluttering/
I was proud to create the look and feel for such an important new business. Jennifer Hedican is caring and passionate about helping chronic non-readers and her system will help many people!
2018 ended with some great projects. It was a pleasure to work with YANA on a progressive project - YANA Connects. The established YANA name is complimented with the same colour palette, interconnected circles and bound by the heart of the organization.
I created an identity for Tracy Fogtmann Comox Valley Realtor, its a strong visual identity that continues to hold strong in its market. Great to see it branded on these fabulous crates! Repost from Cumberland Crate Company
Working on the Boys and Girls Clubs of Vancouver Island annual report is always a visually striking project, great imagery to work with and a colourful palette. They are an important organization providing great experiences for children.
Maintaining a business website is an ongoing process, managing content and engaging with the end user. We recently updated the headers on the www.pantusodance.com website, keeping the site visually interesting and current.
Its always exciting to watch a brand unveil itself. The signage recently went up on the building for Cloud 9 and looks great. Congratulations Jeannie Spencer
This made me laugh so much... may have earned a couple of ribbons in my time :) www.boldfacedgoods.com
Jo and I worked closely together to establish a tone for her brand that would reflect the many skills she can offer. Using subtle typographical highlights I developed a clean, fresh and professional logo, which carried through to business cards and her website. www.jopaynewrite.ca
No two design projects are the same and I love that! There is always a research process before any design can begin, reading into the medicine wheel element used graphically in this project was fascinating! I used the symbolical, graphical elements involved in the First Nation culture to highlight and create a striking visual layout for the Gitxsan Health Charter.
Its a busy time of year working with YANA (You Are Not Alone), a charity that provides funding and accommodation to families that need to travel for medical care of children. We are steadily working on all the design work in preparation for their major fundraising annual gala on February 23rd. This year, Im proud to be a sponsor at this community event. Ive worked with YANA for several years, across all aspects of their design requirements. Together we have established a brand which ties in all pieces of publicity and unifies their important message. www.yanacomoxvalley.com
Ive just updated my website with a great project Ive been working on recently with McKinnon Photography. We created a sub brand for Women by McKinnon and from there developed the look for the boudoir, goddess and fitness pieces. Always an absolute pleasure to work with great imagery ...and it helps that Karen and Christine are such fun! www.northgraphicdesign.ca/case-studies
Whole Glow Cafe opened in summer with the promise to help you nourish, thrive and shine. Carley reached out to me to create the brand for her health food cafe vision. The approach I took for this brand is heavily based on the fresh produce and smoothies she would be producing. Im excited to have played a role in her continued success. If you are in Cumberland, go check it out! Whole Glow Cafe
Restless Raven was a great project to work on being an artistic, creative business. A strong look was developed using a select colour palette, the raven/paint splodge imagery and typeface. When the discussion to creating the Pop up Creative logo started, we decided to intergrate elements from the Restless Raven brand, to build on the successful of the art lab. They are tied by echoeing the shape, keeping the Restless Raven lettering and referencing the yellow highlight colour. Pop up Creative has a bolder, stronger contrasting font to stand out from a watercolour, textured effect background.
Pantuso Dance are the kind of client a designer loves! Their business is bursting with creative energy and wonderful imagery. I evolved the logo to represent the dance studio as an inclusive, supportive, energetic environment. We worked to develop a brand that connects the print, social media and website. Pantuso Dance www.pantusodance.com
How do I choose my first post from all the projects Ive worked on? Im going to show a few favourites where the client has allowed me the creative freedom to experiment and suggest a creative direction.
