Improvisation Il n’y a pas une journée que je ne pense pas à l’école impro sierra. Je me rappelle encore le premier jour où on devait aller devant les autres et où je n’avais pas envi d’y être et juste la peur du jugement me paralysait... Peur d’avoir l’air ridicule.... Je me dis souvent que ce que l’ont trouve dur est ce dont on a le plus besoin...... Au fur et à mesure j’ai travaillé sur moi. J’en tremblait parce que parfois j’avais des idées et je me questionnais... Et si c’est pas drôle? Et si l’autre mon idée nulle? Et si j’ai l’air fou? La pratique et la constance m’ont permis de m’épanouir au point où j’ai fait des spectacles devant des foules. Grâce au soutien de mes proches, mais surtout grâce aux merveilleux enseignants. Cette école m’aura: Donné confiance en mes habiletés Donné confiance en mes idées Appris à écouter et à créer avec les autres Fait exploité mon imaginaire et mon côté drôle Permis d’être moi sans peur du jugement. Fall forward This week I wanted to start with something positive, with a message. I created this video with the amazing @vkxpp Many of you don’t know and will be surprised when I will write this but When I was younger, I was overweight, not feeling great in my body and did not love my self image. I was the kid getting laughed at and never chosen in gym classes. With all that happening.... I remember that I was looking up to students who were strong mentally, that had ...the discipline to never give up even in the hard times. They were strong... It has always fascinated me. How can they run so fast and not me?I mean I am a human, we are the same age, same school, same neighbourhood... what’s their secret? To me everything was hard. I could not do 1 push up. Can you imagine? But there was always something inside me that said keep going Nico, keep going Nico... this small voice that you have too I am sure, that wants the best for us. And then what... I found mentors. 2 students that I spoke to and thought if I could join their club. I was 15 years old. Let me tell you that it took a lot of courage. I know I am not fast but I want to be like you guys. What do I have to do?.. . Euhhh exercise , they said And I said when can we start? And they said today... I tried my best for every training, I was sore, sore, sore but I kept going no matter the obstacles. I kept showing up. Then 2 push ups, then three, 4,5... etc. And here I am, physical education teacher at college level and a filmmaker to loves to tell stories.
