Nicola Valley Archers

Here is the poster for our upcoming shoot. April 18/19. The weather is keeping us guessing, but we’re looking forward to blue skies & good times. Feel free to contact the club for more information.

The Nicola Valley Archers will be hosting our annual 3D shoot on April 18-19th, 2020. This is a fun event that is open to archers of all ages/skill levels. More information & a poster to come.

We are having a second 3D shoot this year! August 24/25, we are setting up for a flat field and one side of a walking 3D course. ... Set up day will be Friday so the archery range will be out of use for the duration of that day and the weekend of the shoot. Hopefully some of you will be out to help! We will be offering camping on site, door prizes, and will be doing a potluck dinner and social on the Saturday evening. More details to follow. A good tune up for hunting season and for those locally going on to represent in the 3D Archery World Championships in September!

Something new being set up for the Father’s Day shoot June 15/16. Needs a final tweaking closer to the shoot

Laying out the course and clearing a few years of downed trees. Getting ready for our Father’s Day weekend shoot June 15/16. I came across the famous through stump shot. Some of you who have shot this before will remember it. Target number 7 on the B course.

With the longer days & more sunshine, our Tuesday night practices are now moved back for a 7PM start. They will run from 7-8:25 ish out at the range. PM the Club for more information.

I got to teach archery today for an amazing group of seniors at CMS. This was through the city for seniors who may be interested in attending the B.C. senior games this summer. Thanks Felicity for organizing this & to the eager seniors who attended.

Today was an amazing archery class @ the Bench Elementary School. Two hours of eager students who were excellent listeners & skilled archers by the end of the day. Thanks so much for the opportunity to teach & I hope I get invited back again soon.

Our Tuesday night practices have begun out @ the gun range. Everyone is welcome to come try your hand at archery. The practises run from 6-7:30 & we have all the equipment for you to try. We offer instruction for all levels & promise a fun time for all. PM the Club for more information.

Another shoot is in the books. Our biggest attendance yet. A big thanks to everyone who came out to brave the weather in Merritt. This couldn’t have happened without the volunteers who made it possible: Gail, Marilyn, Olivia, Dana, Barkley, Richard, Patrick & Travis. When the dust settled, I only remember the blue skies, visits with friend & laughs shared with new friends. Stay tuned next year for some exciting changes we have planned.
