Have you met our coupon coordinator, Diana? Chances are if you have ever bought honey at the market you have visited her at the @grimshire_apiary booth. Her responsibilities include counting the vendors coupons and making sure they are reimbursed, collecting and sending coupons to and from the BCAFM, as well as communicating with the Nicola Valley Food Bank about possible ways to remove obstacles that would prevent coupon users from making it to the market. Making a market happen isnt a low labor endeavor, in fact it takes a collective effort, organization and the right people in the right positions. Thankfully we have a Valerie. Who manages to get the job done, despite the help of nine month old Stanley. Her manager duties involve a lot of different things, such as lining up new vendors, making sure we adhere to provincial Covid protocols, lining up musicians, and planning the market layout as well as the majority of setup on Saturday mornings before the vendors show up. Hello beekeepers! Some of you might already know that the Nicola Valley Arts Council is having their annual community art show next week. This years theme is al...l about bees! Opening reception will be on Thursday July 23 from 4-7(I believe). It would be great to see some fellow beekeepers at the outdoor event. Covid procedures of physical distancing will be in place. Gavin and I will be donating a couple small jars of honey (with a bit of a description of where our hives are located and what floral types we think the bees are after) to the arts council for them to have on display and sell during the show as a type of fundraiser. It would be so awesome if others did the same. Please let me know if you are interested in participating!
