May is Brain Tumour Awareness Month! We are so grateful for my Dad who is a 14 year Glioblastoma Brain Cancer Survivor . My Dad’s health has had many ups and down but he always lives a life of gratitude. We are so thankful for all the family, friends and medical professionals that support my Dad to live his life to the fullest. My Dad is an amazing man and we cherish every moment with him I am so grateful Dad is on my musical journey with me #glioblastoma #cancer #dad #gratitude #braintumorawareness

I jumped into this musical adventure and my goal was to record an EP. I have assembled my awesome team back together and we are brainstorming plans for the future . My dream continues!! It is amazing how people come into your life when you need to be inspired . Jean Schur was a wonderful singer and supportive soul who was in Canada’s National Ukrainian Festival Choir with me. Jean told me that her son Danny was putting on a musical in Dauphin and that I should audition. I was super nervous but the last thing I wanted to do was let Jean down. I met Danny and he was awesome! I started learning from him the minute I met him. The musical was comprised of ...amazing people and it came at a time that I needed to be reminded how much music meant to me. Danny was super supportive and taught me so much about music and how to engage the audience. The song We Seek Thee God was part of the musical. When I sang that beautiful song I remember looking out at a room that was filled with my family, friends and wonderful community members. That night meant so much to me. Danny has continued to be an amazing support and inspiration to me . In my life when it feels like moments are moving too fast or are too overwhelming I have what I call my comfort songs. These songs help me to take a breath, help me to get grounded and then to find joy. Be Thou My Vision is a big comfort song for me. As soon as the music starts my heart rate slows down and I smile. By the end of the song I feel joy. Music has the power to change an overwhelming feeling into a joyful one or gives us a minute to catch our breath. As a kid going to french immersion school we had a new monitrice every year that came from Quebec. They would help us learn french and taught us about life in Quebec. It was such a positive experience for me. We listened and learned many french songs..my favourite singers were Celine Dion and Roch Voisine. We were introduced to a beautiful and moving french song Un Canadien Errant A Wandering Canadian . When I went to go through all my songbooks to pick songs for my EP-this songbook was on the top of the pile. All these years I never knew what I would do with this song but I knew how important it was to me #grateful #singer #dreamscometrue

It is now the four day countdown to the release of my first EP: My Dream that will be available at Dauphin Music & Electronics on February 10th. I thought for the countdown I would share with you a story each day about the four songs I recorded First up is Bring Him Home. I still remember as a kid seeing the musical Les Misérables and hearing this song for the first time. I have been singing this song ever since. In the musical, the song is performed by the main cha...racter, Jean Vajean. He is pleading to God to save another man's life. The song has since become known as a song that provides comfort to those in need. It has different meanings for different people. For me it was a moment I will never forget. When I heard the song, I had no awareness of anything around me except for the singer, his emotions and his beautiful voice.
