ADD YOUR NAME: www.DefendOurMountains.ca When the UCP rescinded the 1976 Lougheed Coal Policy they opened up new coal leases to be approved for exploration. Even after intense public backlash, only eleven of those leases were cancelled. Strip mining Alberta's Rocky Mountains is NOT an economic strategy.... Together, we can pressure UCP MLAs to protect Alberta's mountains. See more

NDP Leader Rachel Notley and Labour Critic Christina Gray will present a fully drafted bill that provides Alberta workers with 10 days of paid sick leave to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and help bring the pandemic to an end. Notley will call on Jason Kenney to re-open the assembly and pass this critical legislation.

LGBTQ2S+ rights are human rights. We all have a role to play in standing against homophobia, biphobia & transphobia and lifting up trans, lesbian, gay, bisexual and gender-diverse voices. My Alberta's NDP Caucus colleagues and I commit to continuing to stand up for all members of the LGBTQ2S+ community.

My first beautiful item from the Big Gifts For Little Lives local Christmas market fundraiser came in from Saraswati Design! I absolutely LOVE this necklace and can't wait to wear it! What a wonderful way to support both local business and #biggiftsforlittlelives #supportlocal #saraswatisisterhood

Alberta physicians and nurses haven’t just been faced with defending Albertans against COVID-19 also having to defend themselves against their own provincial government. At a time when all efforts must be on defeating COVID-19, the Alberta government’s efforts have undermined health care workers.

Today, we called on Jason Kenney and the UCP government to implement a mandatory mask policy for all public indoor spaces in all regions on the Alberta Health Services enhanced COVID-19 list. Please be safe everyone. Take care of each other. Wear a mask. . .... . #ableg #abhealth #abpoli #cdnhealth #covid19 #wearamask #besafe See more

Businesses need help to weather the storm. The UCP must act now before more are forced to close for good.

"What that meant is that starting in July, every health-care worker who has either gotten sick or been exposed and had to isolate as result, those folks have had to exhaust their sick bank and their sick pay." -Rachel Notley

Jason Kenney’s belief that the economy and public health are at odds with one another is out of step with the approach taken by other leaders. Unrestricted growth in cases will undermine the economy. It’s up to this Government to take appropriate steps to support the economy while introducing measures to slow the spread of this virus.

This member statement is one of the most personal I have made in the Legislature. In normal times, raising a family is not easy. However, the COVID-19 pandemic has changed the responsibility of that role in ways we could have never imagined. I feel the weight of that change, as many Albertans can relate, as a mother living in an intergenerational home with my son and my mother.
