Your comfortability, and safety, is my biggest priority, besides providing you with treasured images of course. The cold can always be difficult to shoot in and I probably will ask you 10x at least throughout the session how you're doing and if you need a break to warm up or rest. Luckily pregnancy keeps you feeling pretty warm so mamas haven't had any concerns with the cold.

Mother's Day is a day reserved for women who have taken on the title of being a real-life super hero. From the moment we see those two parallel pink lines indicating "pregnant" on an at-home pregnancy test, we become mothers, regardless of whether or not we get the opportunity to welcome that child into the world. This mother's Day, we celebrate every woman who's conceived. Your baby mattered, and even if it was only for a short time, you are still a mother and we're thinking of you today too

The weekend is right around the corner! What activities have you been able to get out and do now that the weather has been nicer?

Firefighter appreciation isn’t just a once a year affair because firefighters are there for each of us every day. I don't think there are any words that could express the admiration and gratitude for those who run towards danger instead of away from it. Thank you for everything you do for your community.

Hard to believe it's been 5 years. A handful of other friends and coworkers have since moved away, but I know today we're all connected again thinking about that day. I may not live there anymore but Fort Mac will always be my second home and I love having my partner's family up there to still go back and visit <3 #fortmacstrong

Continuing my tattoo series to get to know me in a different way than just stating random fun facts, this is tattoo #2. This is inspired by my love for the band The Maine. While the words in the song Listen to Your Heart don't necessarily relate to my meaning of it, I found the track title very impactful. You see, I went to college after high school for radio. I always knew I’d have to eventually move away from home to a small town to start my career. In 2013 cried tears of ...sadness (and happiness-but also scared, and nervous) when I got the call that I’d be moving within 10 days to the furthest place I applied to -Fort McMurray, Alberta. As much as I didn’t want to be so far away from family, friends and the relationship I was in at the time, I knew it was something I had to do. I had to listen to my heart to go and start my career. I ended up loving it there and I call it my second home. Funny enough I started working at a different radio station in Fort Mac the week before getting this tattoo and met my now-husband, who was with me when I got it. Maybe deep down part of me knew the long distance relationship wasn’t working and that I also needed to listen to my heart about moving on. I had everything I needed right in front of me, even if I didn’t even know it at the time. It wasn’t until a couple months later when our moms both said we were a better fit that our previous relationships, that my husband and I started to see each other as more than friends. But that’s another story for another time. Maybe for our anniversary.

I just got to photograph their baby’s 6 month milestone photos! It’s incredible watching and documenting families grow through the baby plan memberships. You can do a 3 or 4 session membership spread out throughout the first year. The most popular sessions include maternity, newborn, baby milestone and one year. Baby’s have multiple milestones in the first year though so you don’t need to start it at the maternity or even newborn stage. It’s never too late to start documenting their growth through a membership plan! I only take 10 membership clients per year, on a rolling basis. Dress supplied by client wardrobe.

I go through phases of being in front of the camera. As a young kid I threw fits to not be in photos. And my parents were right, I would regret it one day. I don’t want others to look back through their memories years from now and not see themselves. As much as you may dislike it in the moment, your family will treasure it one day. It’s so nice to be breathing fresh air again! It’s so refreshing. I normally don’t get affected by the smoke too much but last week when it hit all at once, it was sickening smelling it so strong and gave me a migraine. One baby does not replace another. Getting pregnant doesn’t automatically "fix" everything. A rainbow baby doesn’t simply mean parents are joyful and happy, having forgotten their previous trauma. There’s still the overwhelming hurt, depression and anxiety throughout their journey. One baby does not replace another, but that one baby taught them to appreciate how precious life is, and showed them how much more a heart could grow, even when it was breaking. Every year I dread winter more and more. But I’m throwing it back for a moment because I love this photo of Olive and I. I think it really showcases the true me out in the woods camping, in camo pjs with pink hair and my corgi. And might I add not half bad for no makeup! I wish our other dog Kaylee was in the photo but she was off wandering like a wild coyote. I wanted a corgi for 4 years before we finally got one. And she was actually born the day before my birthday. It was meant to be

Clients are loving the adorable milestone cards they receive as part of their membership! The plan gives members a chance to document the 3 or 4 most important milestones in the first year with your baby: maternity, newborn, baby, and one year. It's a wonderful experience getting to share in the excitement of seeing how much your littles grow.

Guys, I have a problem.... 40+ pieces and counting, creating over 75+ different styles and looks! I maaaay just be waiting for the arrival of one really special skirt that's about 10ft in length and fits up to a size 22 at least. I was originally going to order it last winter but was waiting on a few other things and then it was discontinued. But it was just brought it back for a short time!! We were just about to hop in the lake at 8:30p for an evening swim when the wind picked up a bit. I threw the dress at her and said I needed to get a photo first while we had the wind going in the right direction. Do you like to swim in the lake or ocean, or do you prefer the pool? ...or no water at all?

When you have a handful of favourite photos, albums are the perfect way to treasure them. If you want to get something really unique, you can choose the acrylic cover featuring your favorite picture on the front with a matching box + USB. But even just the classic leatherette or linen album is stunning. I have samples of both so you can see the difference. Either way, you’ll find yourself pulling it out to show anyone who comes over, and curling up with the kids showing them how much they’re loved.

Babies grow so fast. The stage of their little head fitting in the palm on your hands is so fleeting. Even just a few weeks after having newborn photos done I've had parents surprised at how much they've already changed. Aim to look for a photographer sooner than later in your pregnancy to ensure availability with the photographer. Newborn sessions often book up months in advance; we're currently booking into late fall and winter!

We are our own worst critics. And seeing your body change right in front of you during pregnancy, often makes us more critical of ourselves. My job is to show you the glow everyone else is seeing. My job is to make you feel confident with your body as you carry this new life.
