I need to give a legit shout out to Harvest Community Foods, a local, organic grocer and restaurant in Chinatown YVR that makes a killer kale salad with hazelnut almond dressing () and uh-mazing noodle bowls, ramen, udon (#28 is my fave with extra greens, tofu, and zucchini noodles instead of rice noodles). This is the kale salad. The only problem with it is that there aren’t free re-fills. Support local. Choose fresh herbs over dried, whenever possible. It might sound crazy, but I have fond memories of parsley! It reminds me of going out for dinner with my parents as a kid...parsley always seemed to be the garnish on the plate! As a Nutritionist, I always recommend to choose fresh herbs over dried, whenever possible. We too often rely on sugar, salt and other additives to add flavour when fresh herbs can so easily do the trick.
