Nicole’s Creative Customs

Hey all! I thought I should introduce myself since I’ve been hiding behind all my furniture pictures! My name is Nicole Mighton and I am the creator of Nicole’s Creative Customs. I started this business back in 2018 and I am super proud of how far I’ve come! This wasn’t a lifelong dream of mine I actually did not think of refinishing furniture at all until my dad brought an item to me! We were moving out of our family home and renovating a small house at the same time. There... were lots of antique items in the basement of the house and a few I have in my apartment right now! My dad brought me this antique sewing machine and said I could do soemthing cool with it. He came up with the idea of how people turn them into sinks. He is a plumber himself so I thought I could use my creative artistic skills and turn it into something beautiful! So I did. Now it’s sitting in a workplace where many wonderful people get to experience it everyday. I get lots of inspiration from Pinterest but a lot of my ideas come from the people I love surrounding me. In grade 12 I was in co-op and I was mentioning how I wanted to start a business to one of my business teachers. She gave me the idea of summer company CEDC entrepreneurship program and I thought I’d give it a go! So in 2018 I completed the program and it has taught me many things about the business industry at such a young age. My mom helped me with the name of my business and I thought of changing it but it had stuck with me. I hope to grow my business into something that can help and inspire others on their creative journeys.
