When is the last time you reviewed your insurance policy? Life insurance beneficiaries supersede the beneficiaries outlined in a will. Therefore, as life circumstances change, its your responsibility to keep your policy beneficiaries up to date.

Given the costs of a post secondary education there is no time like the present to start saving for your child. The RESP is a tax deferred savings plan that helps parents save for their childs post-secondary education. The RESP can hold various eligible investment products such as GICs, mutual funds and even individual stocks.... If you have 1-3 kids and your net family income is below $47,630 the Canada Learning Bond will contribute $500 into your RESP and $100 per year every year until your childs 15th birthday. The Canada Education Savings Grant will contribute 20% to your annual contributions and depending on your income you could be eligible for an additional 20% ! Do you have an RESP? There is no time like the present to get your financial house in order. Your debt isnt going to pay itself off and youll never afford the lifestyle you want to live if you dont save! 1 Set A Goal If youre serious about saving you need to set a goal so you know what youre saving for. Whether its a trip to the Bahamas you hope to take in a few months or saving for retirement, having a very specific goal will help you stay motivated and on track. ... 2 Track Your Spending The best way to get on track to saving is to spend less than you earn. Tracking your spending either through a daily journal, excel spreadsheet or printing your statements can help you do this. 3Pay Less Tax Cut your taxes by making sure you use your TFSAs and RRSPs properly. Be sure to hold investments in these accounts instead of cash so you can take advantage of compound interest. Generally speaking if you make less than $50,000 annually TFSAs work best. If you make more than $50,000 then saving in an RRSP works best. 4 Automate It! Set up an automatic transfer of funds to your savings account or TFSA. This way its not a question of finding the willpower to save every month. Always pay yourself first and then spend whats left over. 5 Start the Snowball Try the debt snowball strategy! This is where you focus on paying your debts from the smallest amount to the highest by making minimum payments on all your debts and putting the remainder towards the one with the lowest amount such as a credit card. Paying off a small debt can lead to a feeling of accomplishment, which is an important motivational factor for those who may feel overwhelmed by their debts. Let me know in the comments if you use any of these strategies . . See more

Debt Break Up Alert Let me just say there is nothing sweeter than being debt free and I want you to experience this same feeling! Facts... The concept of living a financially healthy lifestyle is definitely not easy. It is very hard thing to accomplish in todays society because we live in a world where we are perpetually inundated with marketing campaigns designed to pull us away from being financially prudent. Missing monthly payments, making costly impulse purchases, and spending more in general are all consumer behaviours that credit card companies live for! If you do not make the conscious choice to eliminate your consumer debt quickly, it will balloon out of control. DEBT MANAGEMENT TIPS Once you DECIDE to be debt free make sure your actions match your goals Eliminate external influences to free up more cash flow to pay your debt down Start with your smallest debt balance first to give you that momentum for the larger balances Put yourself on a cash diet and leave your credit cards at home You can do this! The key is stay aggressive and dont stop! Schedule your appointment to get a solid debt repayment strategy! See more

Havent you dated long enough? The stress, the unwanted late payment calls and all that extra money in interest! Its time to cut your losses and move on to your brighter financial future! Follow these steps to CUT DEBT OFF FOR GOOD.... Start with your high interest debt FIRST. If your credit card interest is 19% you are giving away that money for FREE. You can definitely direct that 19% else where. Stay laser focused on paying this debt off and then move on to the next balance! Leave all your credit cards at HOME! Temptation is the devil hunny so to avoid this keep those cards at home so you dont use them. If online shopping is your thing you may need to cut them up or put those cards in the freezer, just sayin Call your credit card company and negotiate a lower interest rate. Yes you CAN do this! They may suggest other cards with lower interest rates or from my experience theyll credit you back your last minimum payment. Every little bit helps! Dont forget to celebrate your Break Up success when that debt is gone! Each time you pay off a credit card balance you gotta celebrate and reward yourself! Pop open that bottle of wine, go to the movies or treat yourself to dinner(with cash of course) Debt really sucks and this WILL NOT be an easy break up but you can do it!

Tech Has Made The Difference The indexs biggest movers in 2020 have been Amazon (30%), Microsoft (12%) and Netflix (33%). The S&P 500 is cap weighted, meaning that the bigger a companys market capitalization, the more influence it will have on the indexs price. So even though Microsoft has gained less than Netflix, it has moved the index more because it is a much larger company.

Who LOVES a GOOD sale? Weve all been watching the news and its very evident that the stock market is in a major decline right now. Seeing your stocks in the red every single day is terribly painful to watch but would you believe me if I told you there is a bright side?... If youre like me and LOVE a good sale now is the perfect time to buy those high priced shares youve been eyeing for months! I know the thought of you placing MORE money into what seems like a sinking ship is scary but 10 years from now youll marvel at the deals you got during this market decline. Word Of Advice To be safe you should DIP into the falling markets not DIVE. Use the dollar-cost average approach, where you make multiple purchases and avoid betting that the markets are at their low point. Dont expect to hit the jackpot right away, it could take a year or years for the market to recover. This is why you shouldnt invest any money you think youll need in the next 3-5 years. For my investors currently in the market dont panic and stick to your original investment game plan. Real value will be recognized in time! Whos buying off the Stock Sale Rack right now? See more
