Nicole’s Piano Page 02.01.2021

Hello Piano Families! I will be sending out personal messages to all of my parents, but I'm hoping to cover all of my bases and also announce here to make sure EVERYONE know's what's happening in the next few weeks! PIANO LESSONS ARE OFFICIALLY CANCELLED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. ... My hope is that some of these rules and restrictions will be lifted sooner rather than later to be able to finish out our year and still have our Spring Recital, so I'm NOT cancelling our spring recital YET! (Although I'm not holding my breath that this will be over that quickly, *Sigh*) Being a Pregnant Mama, and with all the new mandates and rules rolled out in the last few weeks, I just feel it makes the most sense to suspend lessons for the time being. THAT BEING SAID: I have had a couple parents ask about doing FaceTime/Video Call Piano Lessons for the next few weeks!! This is completely new territory for me, BUT I think it's a great idea, especially with [Most of] us now being stuck at home! I will be sending personal texts/messages out to each parent to see if this is something you would like to do over this week and next, and then will re-evaluate lesson set up at that point. I WILL ONLY BE OFFERING VIDEO/FACETIME LESSONS ONE DAY A WEEK. although I have lots of spare time on my hands, I would also like to make the most of this down time and keep my video teaching day to Wednesday only. You will get a half hour time slot as usual, and we will just see how it goes! Thank you for your understanding, and I'm hoping that this is the "best of both worlds" solution we need at a time like this! Nicole

Email Just Recieved this morning The redvers and district music festival is officially cancelled for this year! I will keep in touch over the next few weeks as all parents will be refunded for their fees paid! ... I have yet to decide what this will do to our piano season as I REALLY don’t want to change our schedule again! What are your thoughts?? 1) Keep recital on the 5th, do our last week of lessons before Good Friday and I could refund everyone for the one week of no lesson/music festival? 2) move recital to April 26th and do our last week of lessons and recital AFTER the easter break as originally planned at the beginning of the season!?

Okay piano parents! Here’s what you need to know! 1) Recital date and location is as listed! It will be held in Carlyle, on a Sunday afternoon starting at 2pm! 4pm is the latest we’ll be done! All are welcome, family, friends, etc! ... 2) To Clarify - the change in recital date and last week of lessons has NOT changed the number of lessons you paid for at the beginning of the year. Typically festival is the first week of April, so I anticipated no lessons during festival week, and planned to come back for a final week of lessons and a recital AFTER Easter break. We’ve basically just swapped weeks! 4) Any students participating in festival, will perform their festival songs AT the recital. Reason for this is to allow students a chance to get rid of on stage jitters and keep stress low and not having to perform 4 separate songs! If your child IS NOT performing at festival, we will pick songs specifically for recital! Please text me if you have questions I haven’t answered yet! Nicole 577-3274

For some reason, my messenger for this page does not work unless I have Wifi! Which means if I’m not at home, I won’t receive your messages!! Please message me personally (Casey Nicole Turgeon on Facebook) or text 577-3274 if you need to cancel lessons at all this week as I seem to be missing notifications on here with Facebook’s most recent update!! ... I will also have the spring recital details posted on here by Friday, latest!! Thank you!!

Well piano parents; the break has come and gone! This means tomorrow is back to our schedule as normal! At the last lesson before the break I sent this letter home with students, I’m hoping all parents got it but am re-posting it here incase anyone missed it or it has been misplaced! ... Nothing major, just an update about the last week of lessons now before BEFORE easter break rather than after! That’s all for now - see you at lessons this week!
