Looking forward to chatting tonight with Jeff McNeil and sharing my thoughts about the election and our communities.
The relapse and overdose rate has increased by 30% since March 2020. Mental health issues related to our lockdown and the pandemic are especially hard for people with depression. NAMI, The National Alliance on Mental Health has a 24-hour helpline: 833 456 4566 This is the Canadian # Now, I’m asking my small corner of FB to follow suit: Could any two of my Facebook friends just copy and repost to share the helpline far and wide? Just two. Any two. Say done
The second of two parts. Advocacy Advocacy to Action What do I mean by advocacy? In my opinion, is that it addresses all the concerns and shortcomings that our communities and people endure. That being, Taxes, Poverty, Housing, specifically the over all shortage and the unreachable rental rates surround the housing issue. Also tackling the barriers of a basic quality of life for so many citizens, those are jobs and food security. It also includes mental & physical health, ...Continue reading

Whoever was flying our flag on the overpass beside Maupeltuewey Kina'matno'kuom, me and Ben took it down. Someone vandalized it by spray painting all over it along with our beautiful overpass with hate.... there is a nazi swastika on the concrete! Disgusting to say the least.
A little Q&A featuring yours truly in the Cape Breton Post. Also, please take the time to check out the other excellent candidates running in District 5. All equally dedicated and full of community passion. And above all, please be involved, have your say and VOTE!
I am beyond proud to be the chair of our Music Islands music industry association, CBMIC. I am also very proud of our board, our industry professionals, venues, and all of our performing artists, both young and old, and of course, our fans and supporters that makeup what CBMIC is. You are all CBMIC #IamCBMIC
Today is Treaty Day and we celebrate the Anniversary of the 1752 Treaty of Friendship and Peace. Happy Treaty Day to all! We are all treaty people.
This is long over due, but very good news none the less. Our African Canadians and Mi'kmaq brothers and sisters deserve better equal treatment and just justice system. I truly hope this takes a positive root and a real and systemic change occurs. I give must credit, where credit it due. Finally the Provincial Government has acknowledged the error in our justice system and are moving forward towards change. I also hope that it leads to corrective actions for those who have b...een victimized by our unjust system. We all will be watching. This link should start at the Premiers announcement and more importantly, the apology at the 15:30 mark should it not. https://youtu.be/3YxEmJjbmEM?t=928

The municipal elections are coming up pretty soon. I'm in district 5. I'll be voting for Nigel Kearns. I support him. I've always found him to be a straight sh...ooter. He's a bit of a dreamer, which I think is important. Eldon generally answered my calls and dealt with my issues. I don't think that's enough though. I think Nigel acknowledges that things can be a lot better than they are and I think he will push that agenda. He's highly approachable and open to any good idea. The status quo is not OK. We need, and deserve, better. I think that Nigel will help us get there. Reach out to him if you have any questions. He'll be genuinely excited to engage with you. Good luck, Nigel! See more
Another clip from the Sept. 23rd, D5 candidates round table with CBC Mainstreet's, Wendy Bergfeldt. Wendy asked two questions but we had to pick one. "Volunteering or bringing people together" Have a listen to hear my answer. And please, between Oct. 7th and 17th, log or call in and VOTE!
The voter's information letter is now being received in the mail. This letter contains all information, including your PIN that you require to vote 24/7 during the 10 day period of Oct 7th - 17th. Keep an eye out for this and of course, please vote, our community of communities needs you! And if you are wondering what the E-Voting process looks like, check out this demo video I put together for you all. https://www.facebook.com/watch/
