We had a great time with some visitors from Canada that did a sewing project with the girls this week. Thanks ladies!!
Back to school! As all the schools in Niger got started last week, so did our girls! They started with sewing classes last week and today was the first day of French, math and moral classes. The first subject was communication and team building and we hope we can all profit from that throughout the year.

These five grad girls just finished their second order of hygiene kits: 250 kits for girls in another region of Niger. It was quite the amount, sewing 1500 liners, 500 shields and 250 bags to put them in, but they did a great job organizing it and just kept going!
New blog is up! Catch up with what our grads are up to!
What a special celebration as these girls received their certificates, their own sewing machine with a starter kit and we celebrated all that they have learned; sewing skills and so much more than that. What a joy to walk up with these beautiful young women for the last three years. Picture taken by Lisa Rohrick
Today we have a graduation party for the girls that passed their sewing exams in June. We’re getting all set up with gifts, snacks and a special meal as we celebrate this milestone. Stay tuned for graduation pictures!
"The hope is that as women gain a greater voice in their homes and communities, they can break the cycle of child marriage and poverty while giving more girls an opportunity to attend school or other sorts of trainings, and, one day, attain a better future." A new year has started! This week all the schools in Niger began a new year, and so did we with our girls. We were so glad to see all of them and we look forward to a great year!
We have great news to share! The exam results are in for the nationally registered exam for vocational training schools (at the end of the 3 year program) and ALL of our girls passed! And even better, we placed 2 of our girls in the top 5 in the region! Woohoo! Thanks for praying!
These girls sure know how to party! Blog is up on our year end celebrations!
