Dear family of the Nigerian community, 2020 has been challenging but we, as a community have risen to the challenges and supported each other in the new normal ...that we found ourselves. 2020 taught us the true meaning of resilience as we found new ways to connect and go on with our lives in spite of the pandemic. One of our very own, Dr. Onyema Ogbuagu, was key in finding a vaccine for covid-19. We now have hope and can see an end in sight regarding this pandemic. As we look forward to that end, I urge you to do your part to ensure that all our collective efforts to stem the tide of this pandemic is not in vain maintain all the pandemic protocols; quarantine for the required number of days if you have come from a trip outside Canada, even if you tested negative; take the vaccine when it becomes available to you. Better days are ahead. While we endure the present, please take care of your physical and mental wellness. I invite you to participate in the webinar: Management of Mental Health Crisis During the Covid-19 Pandemic, scheduled for January 23 2021 at 5pm. It is designed for our community and fliers will be out shortly. It is only when we, the entire community, come together as one can we really fight out the virus and emerge stronger and happier in the new year. Here's wishing you a happier and healthier New Year 2021! Irene Brown NCAE President
