A different shot of this old Pembina Valley elm I recently shot. Not too much time in the year left for Milky Way photos so I’ve got to get them while I can!

ELM TREE STAR TRAILS Only a few minutes from where I live lies this old elm tree. I’ve always admired it from afar and have been waiting patiently for my chance to shoot it under the night sky. With the magnetic North pole centred above the tree, the elm makes for a nice foreground subject to capture nearly 2 hours of star trails. Let me know what you think!

Print GIVEAWAY of Alexander Park! I took my first night Milky Way shot here up on the top of Hwy 23 near the Hwy 240 junction at Alexander Park in fall 2019. I remember that proud feeling of capturing the night sky and briefly feeling that I’d made it to a high level as a photographer . While I was proud of that then, I knew more work needed to be done. Lots of practice, study, and education were necessary to get closer to where I wanted to be....... And a lot of long nights under the night sky.
