If you inherently long for something, become it first. This is an essential component of my teaching as an Equestrian Mindset Coach. If you want your horse to relax, learn how to relax yourself.... If you want your horse to focus, learn how to maintain a focus yourself. If you want your horse to think through pressure, reflect on and improve your ability to think through pressure. If you want your horse to be confident, take steps outside of your comfort zone and build your confidence. If you want your horse to be brave, develop your personal courage to take risks big and small. If you want your horse to listen to you, become an active listener. If you want your horse to trust you, learn how to trust yourself first. It is important to ask ourselves what we expect of our horses (and humans) in our lives and then assess our own capabilities of doing those very things. When you do so, it isn’t to make you feel like you are not enough or to make you feel like you need to be perfect, it is to allow you empathy and compassion for the horses and people you communicate with and to show you areas of personal growth that may be holding you and your relationships back.

How do you love yourself well?

Humans seek connection above all else, and we are willing to destroy things to attain it. Tarryn Fisher The Equestrian Wellness Wheel looks like this: Meditation- Mind/body connection Movement- physical connection... Barn Time- Equine connection Time for Others- Human connection Meaningful Work- Spiritual connection The key to all connection is found in awareness. Actively enhancing our awareness opens the door foo the connection you crave, deserve, and love. What a reason the wheel do you wish to strengthen?

This is something to celebrate and look forward to! Learning Beth’s model has been transformative for my thinking, relating, teaching, and being. I cannot wait to read this! ... Congrats Beth!!

Happy Mother’s Day to all who are celebrating this weekend! I am honoured to share the title mom with so many incredible women around the world (biological moms, step moms, mom in-laws, fur moms, grandmothers, horse moms, or any woman who has committed to care for and protect another being). You all deserve to be celebrated, this weekend and every weekend! I would like to express my gratitude and love to both my mom and Mike’s mom for teaching me so much about motherhood ...and for everything they do!
