Brrring in Spring ~ This putty coloured winter parka replaces my previous winter coat. Never thought I’d ever buy a puffy coat because I thought it’d make me look big and bulky. Also horizontal lines make me look wider, right? Wrong. This coat has a lot going for it. It has a drawstring which emphasizes my natural waist. The horizontal pattern and puffiness are what my body proportions require. The length is perfect as it rests at my mid thigh. Having the zipper blend with... the putty colour is another bonus because it doesn’t create a strong vertical line. I am predominantly a Horizontal Yin, so horizontal lines are better. Did I really need to replace my previous coat? I wondered this while packing it up for donation. If I ever zipped it up, it was too snug at the hips. Also for this reason, I could never do up the bottom button. The biggest issue with it was the weight. It was so heavy that I felt I was gonna dislocate a shoulder every time I put it on. It was warm, I will give it that. But what good is a coat if it distorts how I look, and I can’t even zip it up? These 3 new purchases weren’t planned. I let them find me. In addition to the lightweight coat, I got a Fannypack (never thought I’d buy one of these either), and a scarf which doubles as a belt. All three items are Dark Autumn The scarf is of a velvety material which is in alignment with my style analysis. The Fannypack has warm gold accents, and the top is wider than the bottom. And there you have it folks, the last set of purchases before bringing in spring clothes. So far, I’ve used #FastFashion as a proof of concept. Yup, the style and colour rules work.
