With so many people at home practicing physical distancing because of COVID-19, it is especially important now to take steps to ensure their home is fire safe. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for the safe maintenance and use of your BBQ.

As of 12:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 23 there will be a fire ban in effect for Nipigon and surrounding areas. Please be reminded that municipal burning permits are not valid during this time. Have a safe weekend!

The Fire Ban is being lifted at 12:01am Saturday, May 16th. Don't forget that **PERMITS** are still required for all outdoor fires and burning. PLEASE remember to be diligent about fire safety while enjoying the May Long Weekend (and beyond).

Please be advised that as of April 3, 2020 there is a provincial fire ban in effect. This includes the township of Nipigon and surrounding areas. No open flames are permitted at this time. Portable gas stoves may still be used at this time but extreme caution is to be taken.

Unit and the Township of Nipigon wants its residents to STAY HOME! This is the most effective way to stop the spread of the virus.
