Sometimes we get special requests to help make the use of devices/orthoses easier with children. These ultra-mini Ankle-Foot-Orthoses (AFO) are being sent out for a special gift this holiday season as a teaching tool for a young girls parents. They use the doll to teach their one daughter specific details about her sister with special needs. The transfer paper even matches her sisters AFOs

Awesome news! Nipissing Orthopaedic Lab is very pleased to announce that Thomas McManus is now a Certified Orthotist, amongst his other remarkable achievements. He recently passed our national certification exams after 3450 hours of supervised orthotic residency here in North Bay. Certification in Orthotics is the highest level of accreditation available in this field of work in the World as established by the World Health Organization. He can now access public funding through the Assistive Devices Program of Ontario for custom made orthoses on behalf our patient clientele.

Join us in our congratulations to Dan who joined us 25 years ago. This dedicated professional moved to North Bay in 1995 in order to enrich the lives of the areas amputee population. Dan is a premier prosthetic technician creating wearable pieces of art. Hello, with Covid Pandemic forcing us to slow down, we finally had the time to modify our front desk to make it 100% wheelchair accessible and to create a barrier between our receptionist and clients. Thanks to Thomas and Manon for the design and Hillcrest Cabinets for creating the custom desk top.

We are pleased to announce that we are now open full time but seeing clients on a 100% scheduled appointment basis. The spacing of our appointments allows us to maintain physical distancing. We are in the process of arranging external brace and artificial limb clinics in Timmins and New Liskeard.
