These four lucky winners each took home a beautiful quilt from Nipissing Serenity Hospice's quilt raffle that took place on December 18, 2020. A special thank you to the Almaguin Quilters Guild and the Southshore Quilter for their generous donations. You truly are talented.... Many thanks to the volunteer raffle committee who worked tirelessly to sell the tickets and to everyone that supported this initiative. $6,760 was raised!!!! Amazing!

One year ago today, we officially opened our doors to the Nipissing and East Parry Sound Districts. Since that time, we have welcomed 84 residents to share their end of life journeys with us. We are proud and honoured to be part of this community and part of so many lives. Thank you for all of the support from our wonderful staff, dedicated volunteers, donors, supporters, advocates, residents and their families and the communities that we serve! We look forward to many mor...e years of growth, learning, development and offering the best in residential hospice palliative care to members of our communities. THANK YOU!

Do you have a message you’d like to share with a loved one who has passed? It can be as simple as a thank you or as elaborate as a poem. If you do, send your message to [email protected]. Your words will be written on a scroll and placed inside a glass bottle, which will be hung on our tree. (We will send you a picture.) Good Morning Everybody! Today is World Kindness Day which just so happens to be the day we launch our Holiday Cookies for Hospice fundraiser! For $20 you will get a dozen assorted cookies of Cranberry Oatmeal, Gingersnap, and Chocolate Sugar Cookies. We will be taking orders through our Fundraising Coordinator, Bernadette at (705) 995-3377 ex 1204 or by email at [email protected] while supplies last. We will also have our volunteers taking orders at the Win...ter Market in the North Bay Mall on Saturdays from 10am-2pm! Happy Wednesday everyone! We’re halfway through the week which means what better day to put out some good news. New Ontario Brewing is hosting Hops for Hospice a live music night by Jake and the Fundamentals on November 28th from 7pm-11pm. Tickets are $20 each and 100% of the proceeds from ticket sales will be donated right to the hospice! On Sunday at sunset our residents were gifted with a private concert by local musicians Molly Ridenour and Sam Harvey. We had hands clapping and feet tapping and smiles all-around (some happy tears, too). This is the beauty of Hospice care - finding joy, whenever possible. Good afternoon and happy Monday! Can you believe it’s already snowing? We sure can’t! Any who, aside from Christmas happening outside we are still planning our Halloween Pumpkin Carving contest! To win a prize tag us in a post with a photo of your pumpkin (make sure the post is set to public) and use the hashtag #NSHPumpkinCarving for the chance to win a prize! Also, starting today you can bring your pumpkins to the hospice to have them featured in our Halloween Night Pumpkin Display! Just drop them off on our front sidewalk with the other pumpkins. Starting this Saturday October 17th our lovely volunteers will be selling tickets for our Quilt Raffle outside No Frills in the North Bay Mall for every Saturday of October from 10am-2pm.
