NL Railway and Coastal Museum Action Page

An email sent to Premier, lets get his attention ! [email protected] Premier Furey , I may be mistaken but I haven’t heard much from the provincial level on th...e closure of the Railway Museum ? I don’t think St John’s councillors should have the right to make a decision which will affect all Newfoundlanders ? The Railway was built In 1881 through 1888 by many of our Ancestors, many of our family members across this province also devoted their lives to the railway for over 100 years ! How could they even consider breaking up such an incredible collection that took years of private donations and purchases to amass ? This collection belongs right where it is ! Mayor Breen says there are many Parties interested In acquiring some of these items ? Does he think he’s doing us a favour by breaking up this collection ? There is an incredible amount of office / business space available in the city and there is no need for this to become anything but the incredible museum it already is. We lost our railway to a broken promise of a new highway , what a mistake that was ! It should of been upgraded not removed. You as premier should be making sure our history is preserved for future generations not erased over a few dollars. You Sir came knocking on my door in Rocky Harbour looking for support , you were elected to be our leader shortly thereafter , I do believe it is time for you to do your part ? Please help to preserve the history of our people and province. Please reply with your intentions , or simply speak publicly on this matter ,we need your support ! There is a second protest tomorrow, Saturday at noon in front of the Railroad Museum! Congratulations to everyone who is working to save the museum!
