Another change important to the people of Humber-Gros Morne, and one I will be calling for, is the fact that there needs to be a school realignment in Deer Lake. Parents want Gr. 6 students to stay at the elementary school. They should not be housed in the junior high school. #nlpoli

Our seniors and those on income support should not have tears in their eyes at the door, when talking about how they're going to pay their bills this winter. We have to do better. Let's prioritize the most vulnerable...financially and through legislating Lillian's Law. #nlpoli

Getting to know your NL Alliance candidate for Humber-Gros Morne. We have lived on the West Coast for 20 years, 16 in this District. Debbie and I both taught i...n Trout River, I taught in Woody Point, and for the remaining years, both teaching here in Deer Lake. Our passion for people, serving and helping others have blessed us with so many wonderful experiences and so many friendships that our hearts are full. We live in Deer Lake, we shop local and we support this community and surrounding communities. We have made fantastic friends that we cherish. Our three boys attended school in Trout River and finished their schooling in Deer Lake. The boys all worked in Deer Lake before heading out to other parts of the province and country. Currently Matt lives in Toronto, Andrea in Paradise, Alex and Ben St. John's, and Isaiah posted to Gagetown, NB. Meet our family... From left to right, Mathew (36), Ben (23), Andrea (33), Alexander (29), and Isaiah (27). When Matthew and Andrea were 16 and 13 we adopted Alex, Isaiah and Ben (3 brothers) into our family. 20 years ago, after a 16 month adoption process I traveled to Thailand, spent 14 days in their country, met their birth mother and family, met with government officials and finalized the adoption. In the past 11 years Andrea and Ryan have blessed us with 4 precious grandchildren (Lilah, Madelyn, Logan and Eli) and Isaiah and LeeAnn have blessed us with precious Thomas. I am running in this by-election to be your representative and your strong local voice in the House of Assembly. My commitment to family, community and my work ethic is an open book. I never make a promise I cannot keep, but I can commit my time, my integrity and my word that when elected as your MHA, your voice, I will represent you and your needs. I will be of service to you because that is how I was raised, how I have lived my life and that will never change. Your concerns, your issues, your needs will become mine. I will advocate for you, work with you, and all stakeholders to find solutions together. I strongly believe we are stronger together and when we put people above party and politics good things happen. I will advocate for all communities in this great District. I will be visible and accessible to you. My greatest concern right now is that I will not get to every door in this District, but I am giving it my best effort. I will not neglect you once elected, you can count on that. On October 6th I humbly ask for your vote to be your voice.
