The Battle of the Atlantic, 1939-1945 Every year on the first Sunday in May, the Canadian Navy family gathers to commemorate the Battle of the Atlantic to hon...our the struggle, sacrifice, and loss, but also to celebrate the heroism and courage in the face of daunting obstacles: horrible weather and high seas, rough little ships and cramped quarters, and the ever-present threat of attack by submarines lurking below. Because we can’t gather in person this year, the 76th anniversary of the end of that Battle, it may be more important than ever to know more about what we are commemorating, and why. What was the Battle of the Atlantic? Why does it matter? The importance of the Battle of the Atlantic simply can’t be overstated: it is universally acknowledged that without victory in the Atlantic, Allied victory in the Second World War would not have been possible. Congratulations to our volunteers on the recognition of all their hard! SLt Raper currently teaches our Petty Officers at NLCC Carinthia and is one of our coaches for the Seamanship team. NCdt Wilkinson retired from our program last June. He had been with NLCC Carinthia since his years as a Sea Cadet, continuing once he graduated from the program as a teacher and a coach for our Semaphore Team. Both, as many others do, give tirelessly to this program ensuring many opportunities are available for all our youth in the Newmarket Community. Bravo Zulu from all of us at NLCC Carinthia!

We are lucky to be a part of Newmarket Bingo World's fundraising program! They are happy to be open once again. Much of our program and training efforts this year is because of their generosity. Bingo World is now open 9am-1am Sunday thru Thursday & 9am-2am Friday & Saturday for TAPTIX only.

Our second term began first week of February and was celebrated with promotions for our New Entries to our Leading Cadets. They worked hard with our new virtual platform and jumped over obstacles showing how well they can adapt. Bravo Zulu!

Our volunteers attend yearly training to gather ways to teach our rank courses. Once time has gathered to place those ideas into lessons, promotions are granted! Bravo Zulu from all of us at NLCC Carinthia & our Navy League of Canada-Newmarket Branch!
