Check out this amazing volunteer opportunity for young adults ... Waterlution is calling for outstanding Canadian youth to join our 3rd cohort of Youth Advisors. The Canada-wide Youth Advisory Board will launch the Great Canoe Journey - a two-year program of public workshops hosted by Traditional Canoe Builders from across Canada, and brought to Canadian classrooms by our Youth Advisors.... School teams will be mentored by Youth Advisors who offer webinars, culture and water learning activities, educational videos, and classroom visits (that result in students showcasing and sharing knowledge with their peers). Youth Advisors in BC will continue to deliver the popular Great Waters Challenge program. The people at Waterlution is looking for a few potential Youth Advisory Board candidates in Newfoundland & Labrador! They are looking for young leaders who are: Indigenous youth, new-Canadians, or long-time Canadians Living in Canada, aged 16-29 Passionate about water, Canadian indigenous cultures and youth education Available to commit to 2-3 hr of volunteer work per week from June 2018-March 2019 Available to join us August 3-5th (in Beautiful Squamish BC) for our annual Youth Advisor retreat and training Youth Advisors who are selected will: Develop resources and activities for classes to learn about water, canoes and indigenous culture Recruit and mentor school teams Find prize partners and network partners Be trained in workshop facilitation, indigenous ways of education, indigenous history (pre/post contact), water literacy, and project development at our RETREAT in BEAUTIFUL SQUAMISH BC!
