Another hurdle complete as the first few test kits have been sealed! Next step, color printed sheets and the delivery of the 3D printed face shields (being printed by one of the youth). These COVID-19 Kits for Sections have been put together specifically to meet the recommendations for Scouts Canada’s return to in-person Scouting and are available for $20.
An amazing instructor, expert in paramedicine, and a supporter of our program , ACP Greg Clarkes has published the Rapid Response Guide to Opiod Emergencies. This book is a great resource for both practitioners and lay-rescuers.

Thankful that we were able to have Delray and his handler ACP Erica Olson with us as she shared about the PAWS program and how she helps to provide specialized peer support and psychological health education to EMS staff in Alberta. We were also proud to welcome MedVents and Advisors from across the country to join us in this great learning opportunity. #emsmentalhealthmatters #ems #ambulance #healthcare #emergency #emergencyresponse #emspaws #ahsems #emsdogalberta #delrayafd #padsdelray
We are grateful for the community members that continue to help our youth engage in learning through this pandemic. We have welcomed special guests such as Psychiatrist Dr. Sarah Matthews, ACP Brenda Hardy, and ACP Shane Croke to share their insights and expertise with our youth. We have stepped up efforts to provide weekly remote opportunities for our youth and are looking forward to guests like PAWS support dog Delray and his handler Erica, and our friend Kristine Kern.
Remembering an honouring the sacrifice of RCMP Cst. Heidi Stevenson, killed in the line of duty, April 19, 2020 as well as all those affected by the tragic incident.
Shoutout to some of our awesome Advisors (they’re all awesome), who are reminding everyone to stay at home so they can continue serving our communities. #scoutscanada #ems #firstresponders #thankyou #covid19 #quarantine
We asked the Strathcona County community to help us spread the word about the importance of physical distancing. We'll get through this together! #foryouandme #strathco #shpk #strathcocares #albertacares #covid19AB
Not a new video, but this MythBusters experiment illustrates just how easy transmission can occur when social distancing and proper hand cleaning is ignored. Just don’t risk it...
Washing your hands is really like putting on a fresh pair of gloves. Dr. Samir Gupta Don’t let PPE give you a false sense of security, nor waste equipment that would better serve medical professionals during this pandemic. Stay safe and wash your hands!
If you haven’t already seen this very informative simulation that the Washington Post has shared, check it out! This simplified outbreak of ‘simulitis’ shows how different policies affect the transmission curve of the outbreak. Watch the simulations and let us know what you think.
