Hello migrant workers and concerned community members, We know there is alot of confusion and fear right now. We want to let workers and groups/organizations that are supporting them know that NMWIG has been collecting grocery gift cards for our yearly festival that is set to take place in May. As a group, we have decided to use these now and help workers who may be in need of supplies, groceries and medications. If you know of any workers who are in quarantine, or not able... to work or not able to get out to grocery stores for whatever reason, please let us know and we will work with you to try and help. We understand that certain things are in short supply and that access to those items are limited. We are asking farm owners who may be overwhelmed at this time, groups/ organizations that are doing amazing work with the community and any migrant workers to please contact us. If community members want to make donations, they can do so at nmwig.ca or send a message, for more information, to our Facebook page. When things get hard, we need to come together and support the most vulnerable in our communities! Please share this post!! We need Niagara to rally around the workers!
