As the vaccines start rolling out, I wanted to make people aware of this common reaction that is now being referred to as "Covid Arm": About 1% of vaccine recipients in trials reported a rash over the injection site appearing about a week after administration. The media has dubbed this "Covid Arm". From a review of clients experiencing this, the onset has been from 5-14 days, and may be associated with pain, redness, swelling, and itching. While it is self-limiting and usually lasts for a few days, it can last longer. This is not an allergic reaction and is more common after the first dose, and is also not a reason to not get the second dose. Hi Friends! I wanted to share this with you! Finally this product I have been working on is ready for sale in Canada! I've been working on getting a COVID-19 finger prick rapid test out to Canadians to help with the pandemic. This product was first regulated by Health Canada in 2016 for the purpose of reducing the over prescribing of antibiotics. Then when Covid hit, the company ran studies to see how well it would pick up Covid. Test accuracy varies from 93-100% (dependin...g on which data you look at) and will not only pick up Covid, but other infections such as Influenza A&B, Strep and more. FebriDx is a Rapid Point of Care (POC) Test that shows if you are carrying a viral infection, bacterial infection or if you're non-infectious. So if you tested positive for a virus, then you may want to proceed for the Covid swab, or if you are testing negative, then it may give you the confidence to return to work, or visit a family member etc. It is a test that could be done at home or in the office that takes 10 minutes using a single blood drop - much like a glucometer. It is regulated for use by someone with some health care knowledge ie. maybe a first aid certified person, or health and safety officer in the work place, but it is very simple to use. The test and finger spring loaded lancet are all built into one easy device. I've been working on this since March and very excited to see it finally coming to the market! It's been certified in Europe, the UK, AUS and elsewhere. FDA certification is expected in 2021 so we have dibs right now as Cndns!
