Noble Touch Equine Massage Therapy 30.09.2020

Back to what I love , helping horses !! Noble Touch has been busy past several weeks, treating all disciplines, I find Covid 19 has been a nice rest for many. Owners I feel have been doing a wonderful job fitting their horses back up. Nice to see the slow and steady build up of fitness, our partners have certainly benefited in many ways during this break. Booking clients once again, covid 19 protocol in place.

With the opening of stables this week! Please dedicate the proper time to bring your horses back into work slowly! Horses have gained weight, they have lost muscle/topline along with simple cardio fitness. Are you able to run a mile at the moment after sitting on the couch? Tendon issues, back issues, simple muscle issues can be avoided if you take it slow. If your horse’s farrier schedule changed again be careful. ... Horses that were lunged but not ridden will not be overly fit to ride. Horses that were ridden but did not jump will not be jumping fit!! Mark my words you will be seeing your vet/ equine therapist if you don’t take it slow. Think of your partners before you go over board. We are not in any rush. No shows any time soon.. SLOW AND STEADY will win this race.

Observe this movement surrounding the TMJ. Another reason to check bridle fit if jaw relaxation is an achievement you would like for your horse.

For those following Tanners story..... November 2018 he suffered a significant tendon injury, to point where euthanasia was considered. After few months of intense Pemf/massage treatments, good farrier work he has been back under saddle since January and is now preparing to become a hunter. I needed him as much as he needed me after loosing my heart horse Usher. Sometimes things happen for a reason.

One question I am often asked is how can I help my horse become more supple. Starting with a proper warm up is an essential key to keeping your horse fit and muscle tone elastic. Warming up and cooling down will help to minimize muscle stiffness and loss of range of motion. This will also help to prevent injury such as to tendons or muscles and help prepare the horse and rider both mentally and physically to maximise their performance.... Every stride the horse takes causes an impact on the tendons. The warm up process increases the elasticity of the tendons allowing them to stretch to a greater degree without injury. This is because the collagen molecules in the tendons pack together and water is redistributed within. Warming up also increases the strength of muscle. The muscle contraction strength is increased as the muscles are stretched in the warming up period. There are many ways in which people choose to warm up their horse there are no hard and fast rules but the factors I suggest to people to consider are: * The time it takes dependent on whether the weather is hot or cold. * The time may vary on the age or breed and temperament * Use the warm up to physically and mentally prepare you and your horse * Warming up the tendons and muscles can help prevent injury A proper cool down benefits the horse by: * returning pulse rate, respiration rate and body temperature to normal * improving blood circulation, which reduces chance of inflammation * removing lactate from muscles * allowing dilated blood vessels to slowly return to normal * relaxing and lengthening muscles * bringing the horse into a state of mental and physical relaxation Do Your Warm-Up in Reverse!! If you have been working in canter or gallop, then start your cool down by bringing your horse back to the rising trot for a few minutes. Ride some 20-metre circles, serpentines or figure eights while encouraging your horse to stretch long and low. The aim is to stretch the muscles that have been working so hard along his top line. Following the trot work (or if you only trotted in your working part of your ride), walk your horse on a long rein, allowing him to go into a long and low frame to stretch his back. Encourage him to stay bent around your inside seat bone and leg as you ask for changes of direction (serpentines or figure eights). Ask him to maintain a nice consistent and fluid rhythm in the walk while keeping his hindquarters engaged Food for thought!

As an Equine Massage Therapist of 17 years I couldn’t agree more. I invested in PEMF to enhance my business, as well as after so many years of massaging my hands have had so many issues,PEMF machine has taken the stress off of my hands. People who are buying machines without knowledge or education of any kind of Equine Anatomy to start a business is somewhat scary. Perhaps ask your practitioner about their educational background! One can never replace the years of hands on knowledge and feel for your horse with just a machine. Food for thought on this sunny Sunday!

Over the summer I had a young horse start to tie up and then from the stress of that he went on to show mild symptoms of colic and was very distressed. I immedi...ately started Magna Wave over the area of his kidneys and over his barrel at a mild to moderate setting. 20 minutes in he was completely relaxed. 30 minutes and he had passed manure. 40 minutes a second manure pile and bright happy eyes. Truly amazing results. #primetimesolutions #magnawave #magnawavelove #pemf See more

Updated!!!! Brooke stopped by to get some relief for her broken collar bone and injured shoulder. She said she felt instant relief! One reason she chose to giv...e the PEMF a try is so that she doesn’t have to take as many prescription drugs for the pain. Update from Brooke: Natalie that one session made a huge difference it's just a dull ache it's gotten way better throughout the day I only had to take one dose of ibuprofen all day and tonight I was able to take my sling off no problem no screaming in pain and put it back on. the shoulder blade pain is completely gone

My Mom (96 yrs of age) receiving her weekly Magna Wave PEMF Therapy on her knees. Before starting this therapy, Mom had severe arthritic changes in her right k...nee, and dealt with near constant pain daily. Pain meds weren't effective, and the pain was keeping her awake at night and impacting her quality of life. After 9 PEMF sessions she started getting relief and now has no pain whatsoever. I treat her 1-2 times weekly as maintenance, and now she is able to sleep through the night. #magnawavebyliz#MagnaWaveLove See more
