Winter is trying to hang on, but next week's forecast looks like Spring is finally kicking winter to the curb. We'll be riding dirt soon! Here are the most rece...nt Trails Updates. Trail Construction at the HuB & Flathead construction continues on UpCycle. It's been out of commission for the last couple of weeks, while Noble 5 Creek Ltd. has been working to repair issues caused by 2020's bummer summer weather. It should be back up and running next week. We'll keep you posted. Axis Mountain has started some improvement work on the very rugged, tire-eating Flathead exit. (It will still be a rock garden, not a dirt or gravel path). They have also been working on fixing erosion issues on Flathead at the UpCycle junction. there's a new connector trail that flows from the pump track to UpCycle. It has a series of fun little rollers that are great for all the little groms on run bikes to practice on. Trail Conditions: There is still ice and frost heave on every trail. Some trails that are somewhat rideable (with caution) include: T2 Hatchet Boy Flathead to the Grotto Lower Backeddy Lower Downtube (HB to Kitselas) Steinhoe (from Kitselas to the 2nd Lookout) Spring Creek to Y LaLa Valley Hey Bear! Snakes (Not) Slippery When Wet Packhorse (3/4) Trails still buried: Lichen Loop Shangri-La Upper Downtube Flathead above T2 Griff's Line Upper Backeddy Lucky 7 UpCycle Steinhoe (2nd Lookout to Y junction) Reminder: this is the time of year where trail conditions change rapidly as they thaw out. If you are leaving deep impressions with your feet or tires, please consider turning around and using another trail for the day. Since they are still thawing out, none of the trails have had their usual spring tidying yet so watch out for derailleur smashing rocks/branches if you're riding. We know there is lots of keen riders, but please wait to hear from Terrace Off Road Cycling Association for trail opening and obey construction signage. Fletcher and Pierrot are putting the finishing touches on the new connector trail between the HuB and the Pump Track for TORCA.
