Today we wrapped up a great community initiative set forward from Andrew at Eddies Cuisine And Pizza..! We were approached by Andrew keep a look out for people doing good deeds in our community..! In this initiative, we handed out half a dozen gift cards to show gratitude in the community for people we noticed helping out..!... We know there are good deeds done all the time by a number of our great community residents, but we were only able to notice half a dozen over the last couple months that stood out to us for some well-deserved pizza..! Nice work everyone ! And a big shout out to Andrew for helping out and being part of the Community.!

Fire ban in effect for entire Lethbridge County, this will also include the Town of Nobleford.

PSA- Grass fires burning in region LETHBRIDGE COUNTY- Several grass fires are burning in the region and are being fueled by strong winds and extremely dry condi...tions. Fires are located on the Blood Reserve and MD of Willow Creek near the County’s borders. Fire crews from several municipalities are working in a coordinated effort to extinguish these fires. All active burn permits are cancelled until winds subside. Residents are advised to monitor the Alberta Emergency Alert website or app for updates (https://emergencyalert.alberta.ca/).

Emergency crews are on scene at the Highway 519 /Highway 23 roundabout, with a fully loaded semi tipped over blocking northbound traffic. We will be on scene for the next couple hours until the truck is upright and traffic is cleared. Please avoid the area as we will be having cranes coming in to lift up the cargo. Traffic is slowly moving through a couple of the exits, but will be closing it down completely once the cranes arrive.

Tonight the crews are out again on a Semi Jacknifed on Hwy 23 on the Monarch overpass, all north and southbound lanes are closed. Tow truck is on scene and hope to have it cleared sometime soon.

All units are back in station, and Hwy 23 is open for north and south bound travel. Stay safe and stay warm.

Emergency crews are back out on the highways, on their 4th incident today for a 3 vehicle MVC involving 2 semis. Highway 23 is completely impassible from the roundabout down to 104, crews are dealing with roughly 50 vehicles on scene digging them out and get them off the highways. Vehicles are moving slowly as we clear them from the scene.

A few weeks back members were invited to do a business walk through at the local AGI manufacturing plant in Nobleford. During the walk they were able to understand the complex structure with many structural additions onto the plant, over the years. Also to know crucial elements for fire suppression and power shut downs. All these items are crucial for understanding how our department will respond in an emergency, and for building onto our Emergency Response Plan. Emergency crews are on scene of a jackknifed semi on Highway 23 by the Monarch overpass, blocking north and southbound traffic. Traffic is being rerouted until the scene is cleared.

Emergency crews are on their 2nd MVC this morning on Highway 23, it is zero visibility and we do not recommend any travel, please give emergency workers room to work on the side of the highway.

2020 fundraiser update: This year our Nobleford Firefighter Society had to make the tough decision, to cancel the much anticipated annual fundraiser Wing Fry and Live Auction due to the ongoing Covid-19 restrictions. We are extremely greatful for the support from the community, sponsors and purchasers from the previous years to make the event such a success.!... This year the society decided to try a different approach for fundraising efforts, which sold out extremley quick just by word of mouth, and did not leave enough time to properly advertise for the raffle. Tickets sold out in mere weeks for the fundraiser set out for 2020. Below are the details and pictures of the prizes which the draw takes place on the followong date and time: Draw date: October 17 Time: 9:00pm We want to thank everyone who was able to purchase tickets, and we appologize to those who were not able, as we only had a certain amount of tickets we were allowed to sell. The draw results will be posted on date, and winners will be notified by a member of the society. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE.!!!

Our members have had a busy summer with responding to emergencies, attending our regular training nights, and ontop of this, we have had a number of firefighters in 2 courses hosted at our neighbouring depts. Coaldale & District Emergency Services is hosting the NFPA 1001 Level 1, and Coalhurst Volunteer Fire Department hosted the NFPA 1002 ( Pumping Course ). There is no doubt that committing to this service asks alot from our members in order to serve this great community..., but the payoff of being able to be there, and help when most needed, is worth all the time put into emergency training. 19 yrs ago, 343 first responders risked everything to help / save so many. We will never forget.

Early this afternoon crews were called out for Mutual Aid assist for a large wildland fire on the blood reserve west of Coalhurst / Lethbridge. Crews have now cleared scene and back in service.
