[PET FOOD BANK] Our pet food bank is closed this week (Friday, April 3) We have done our very best to support our community with human food the past weeks, along with pet food and supplies, since our 2 local food banks closed due to Covid-19.... Adding in the human food element, has drained our financial resources to restock on pet food and supplies for this week. We ensured we sent our pet food bank clients home with a lot of pet food and supplies each week over the past few weeks, so were hoping everyone can manage through this week, until we build up our pet food and supplies again. We will continue to take this week by week with re-opening. If you are absolutely, without pet food, please email: [email protected] and we will try to make arrangements to assist. We currently service approximately 100 pet parents per week with wet and dry food, pet supplies such as kitty litter, and other basic pet necessites. Our project has been feeding community pets since 2017.

The No Hungry Pets Project pet food bank will be open this Friday and continue on a week by week basis until the City comes up with an available option to our 2 major Beach(es) human food banks closing. Our most vulnerable before Covid-19, are now even more vulnerable without access to food for themselves and their families and I cant sit back and offer pet food and not assist pet parents themselves with human food. If you have any human food you can spare, please help.... [email protected]

[PET FOOD BANK AT Matties Place] We are getting word that some local human food banks are closing down effective immediately. No Hungry Pets Project is committed to helping pet parents in need and will remain open as long as were able to continue and will assess week by week. ... PET FOOD BANK: FRIDAYS - 4:00 - 5:30 157 FALLINGBROOK ROAD We will be implementing new protocols to keep everyone safe and respect the need for social distancing and proper hygiene. We are requesting, from our community, on a week by week basis, non-perishable HUMAN food items, if you have any to spare, that can help out those most vulnerable. With food banks closing, we cant imagine helping out with pet food and not being able to offer some help to the humans picking up, that are also in need. We will be at Matties Place, 159 Fallingbrook Road, from 2:00 - 4:00 on Friday, March 20, for anyone that wants to drop off non-perishable items. We will have bins set up at the front door, that you can leave your items in, and well get everything sorted inside, for distribution from 4:00 - 5:30. 1 can of soup. 1 bag of pasta. 1 can of sauce. 1 bottle of juice, will all make a difference if you have any you can spare. Thank you.

[BLOOR STREET ROCKS!] We are once again appreciative of our 2 biggest No Hungry Pets Project supporters, Pet Valu & Pet Valu. These 2 Bloor Street Pet Valu locations are a huge part of helping us keep costs down and our food stocked for our pet food bank clients, held at Matties Place each Friday.... They always have awesome deals to be had as well! This week they had kitty litter on for $10/bag, so we were able to stock up, as we go through a lot kitty litter weekly. We also always have a need for wet cat food, so if anyone has connections to some wet cat food donations, please let us know. Thanks again Pet Valu for supporting pets in need through our pet food bank and rescue work through Matties Place.

We are so thankful to the Pet Valu / Pet Valu stores that support the No Hungry Pets Project. You truly make a difference and we appreciate you. What a lot of people dont realize, is the balance of No Hungry Pets Project is self-funded. We do very little fundraising and our project is in its 4th year. Though an expensive project to fund, its been incredibly rewarding, knowing 1,000s of east end Toronto pets have been given the support needed over the years.... So, its always incredibly appreciative when kindness is shown to give us a little boost and help us out with some extra cat purchases, where we mostly lack in donations. Thank you, Lois Starr, for your financial donation. It enabled us to pick up some extra cases of wet cat food and bags of kitty litter, to keep our feline pet parents stocked up for their kitty friends.

Today was pet food delivery day to some homeless communities in and around the downtown core. Im very proud of the relationship I have built with most of these folks, and that they trust enough to reach out with whatever pet assistance they need. And No Hungry Pets Project will always be there for them. They always make me feel so welcome in their space and are so appreciative of my arrival. Extending gratitude to Danny the Contractor, for always being there last minute to... help me load 100s and 100s and 100s of pounds of pet food, to ensure no pet goes without and allowing me to get loaded and on the way as quickly as possible, to waiting pet parents. Im filled with gratitude today to so many that make all this possible.
